Eligh has followed in his mother's and grandfather's tradition in his own way...he has traveled the world independently many times over with his group, "The Living Legends", and has stayed a consistent force in music for over 12 years as an MC and a producer, providing the backbone to many classic Living Legends songs. Eligh's albums with fellow Living Legends member, The Grouch have brought a new level of praise from hip hip fans across the globe, along with his other group, "3 Melancholy Gypsys" with childhood friends, and fellow crew members, MURS & Scarub.
Jo Wilkinson grew up in the 50's & 60's in Los Angeles, singing songs of struggle: civil rights, labor and peace movement songs. Her most important musical influences were Pete Seeger, Ronnie Gilbert, The Weavers, Paul Robeson, Joan Baez, and Bob Dylan. "My parents were blacklisted from their professions. My mother Jean was a social studies teacher; my father Frank was in public housing. Ry Cooder wrote a song about my father on his album, Chavez Ravine. After losing his job in the LA Housing Authority, Dad devoted his life to defending our precious Bill of Rights, by speaking all over the country. He spent one year in federal prison for refusing to testify before the old House Un-American Activities Committee." In her own way, through her powerful singing voice, Jo has carried on that tradition.
She has sung with Pete Seeger, Jackson Browne; led crowds in song at rallies attended by Cesar Chavez, Angela Davis, Delores Huerta, Jesse Jackson, and many other prominent activists. Jo has performed at folk venues such as The Ashgrove and McAbes. Now living in Tucson, AZ, Jo has formed a band, Grains of Sand, and performs regularly at local venues, as well as the annual Tucson Folk Festival. She is currently working on a folk album with Grains of Sand (She has two albums out with a former band, "4 Corners"). Jo also has a daughter, Sara, whom Eligh and Jo wrote a song for on this album.
