About Elliot Brown And The Candy Caps
Elliot Brown comes from the deep north of the north island of New Zealand. He is 23 years old and writes and records and performs his own songs with the help of some of his talented friends. Elliot Brown (Candyland Candy Captain) is also a member of the swampcore band The Stomps and plays in various cover bands. He's a regular song-and-dance-man. Okay, here's some trivia for the songwriters out there. No googling. Here are some of my favourite song lyrics from old songwriters... "Dear Okie, if you see Arkie, tell 'im Texas got a job for 'm out in Californee" "Help me if you wheel (will)" "It's all just a dream babe, a vacuum, a scheme babe, that traps you into feeling like this" "Today I tried to eat a steak with a big ol' table spoon" "get my a pint of booze and a John B. Stetson hat" "Incidentally I've got my spies on you" "Good authors too who once knew better words now only use four-letter words writing prose" "comb your hair and paint and powder" Summer Girl by Elliot Brown

Just checked out your music Elliot. I like it! It reminds me a bit of Nick Cave in places which is no bad thing.

Well that seems like a good thing for you then! Its always good to get out and experience more things. Soon as I get money in my pockets, I'm going to take me a little ride. ;) It's a very catchy song, and it seems to me it has meaning. You and your scary life of drinking and .... The new music isn't really rockabilly. The first song I am meaning to put out is actually more klezmer/dixieland...so it should be a cool new twist on things Ive been meaning to try for forever but never could get them to click for various reasons.

I have stripped my profile bare again, because I'm recording entirely new music right now. haha How is everything? You start classes yet? I got a job working in a women's boutique downtown. I have been spending all my time working, writing and swing dancing. The days are a blur! Hope you're doing swell, love! xoxo

Aw - that's shitballs.
Maybe they need to go ahead and create something new just so they can sponsor you - write them a follow up letter.  Make 'em do it!

As for your Boo Radley plan - sounds deluxe!
There's plenty of little holes down there that you can sneak into without anyone noticing.  You won't even have to pay rent!  Just make sure you keep a bottle of self-tanning lotion down there with ya'...hehe.

I'll probably be down there in the next month - would be wicked to catch a gig - maybe even shoot you a little?
When I've got dates, I'll let ya' know!

Thanks a lot for your comments! Many moons ago, I read quite a lot of Poe. Maybe I never got over that.

Brilliant idea, pick a simple chord proggression and let it run. Some Major in the Army went wacko and killed 12 wounded 30 at Ft. Hood  a large military base in central TX

Well been staying around the house after a long Halloween weekend. Work is slow and the cah just doesn't go far. We had a little excitement about 100 miles south of here this afternoon. Perhaps one day we shall write a little tune together.

yeah it aint your new track with 14k plays mate :D i like your use of rhetoric "eedjit" and also the melody and backing vocals reminds me of a spaghetti western and the bass reminds me of a horror movie lol! very appealing track.

Oh and by the way you can take a listen to our stuff if you are into comedy/parody stuff. If not no worries! nice to meet ya dude :D

Thanks for your friendship! Been listening to Delirium Tremens (and most of the other songs). The melody is probably impossible to forget now and the rather insightful lyrics  are sung with just the right touch of comedy and tragedy. Would be fun to hear this one played live. Now go easy on the moonshine and the Candy Caps...
