Biography
Elijah Trujillo was born to Eugene Trujillo and Irene Adams in May of 1986. He was raised in the Espanola Valley, in the small rural community of Chamita, on land that was part of the land grant given to his Spanish ancestors. Both his parents are musicians, each differing in the instruments they play, but with guitar in common.
Elijah's father started teaching him to play guitar at the age of 17. Elijah already had some experience with piano and drums at this time, but it wasn't until this point that he started composing his own songs. Elijah knew from the start that this was his instrument and became fanatical about the guitar.
During his time at Northern New Mexico College, Elijah took guitar classes with Cipriano Vigil to learn the notes, chords, and extra techniques. This was a major leap in his guitar playing. He learned advanced songs such as Tanguillo, a Folk/Flamenco song by an anonymous composer.
At the age of 20, Elijah preformed his first show at Embudo Station, an outdoor, riverside restaurant located in the canyon between Espanola and Taos. He has since then played at many different local venues.
