Yeah the SP-202 is a pretty crazy piece of gear. No built-in sequencer, short sample-time, and the pads were not velocity-sensitive. I loved how it had a bit-grunger on it though so I could run some lo-fi samples through it.
Obviously, yours is a lot better. I heard Madlib used one to produce most of the beats on Madvillain, no?
