The outdoors, improving, decorating or otherwise beautifying my house and property, historical research and preservation, myth, legend, folklore and the paranormal, guns and shooting, music: the old standbys and unusual styles and bands that don't sound like everything else out there, tattoo collecting, painting, writing, dogs and cats (all animals, really).
I am an investigator with the Hazleton Paranormal Society. I am also responsible for the historical research for the group. Please go to www.hazletonparanormal.com for more information about what we do!

Music
Too many different bands and even genres to list. Some examples:
When I was younger, I listened to old punk bands like the Misfits, Black Flag, Dead Kennedys and GBH. I don’t listen to them very regularly anymore, but will from time to time.
I listen to a lot of 80’s music like Depeche Mode, the Cult and the Mission.
My all time favorites are Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Sixteen Horsepower and the Smiths.
I like moody, haunting stuff like Mazzy Star, Bauhaus, Dead Can Dance and Murder By Death.
Also, old-style country music. Johnny Cash, Hank Williams I and III and the Carter Family. The Siderunners are amazing! However, I do find radio country pop completely intolerable.
I am into very experimental music; just about everything Mike Patton does, I like. My favorite project of his is Fantomas. I also like Mars Volta, The Sound of Animals Fighting and Converge.
I am a huge fan of Elvis, Queen and Motorhead. I also love the Cramps, Hasil Adkins and PJ Harvey.
There are bands considered newer punk-rock that I like; Alkaline Trio, Hot Water Music. Irish punk; Flogging Molly, the Tossers.
I have friends in two Philly bands that are very good (but quite different). Cisco Jeeters and Tapping the Vein.
Believe it or not, the genre that takes up the most space in my CD collection is classical. I favor the sound of stringed instruments over piano. I like violin concertos and symphonies, some opera and choral. My favorites are Bach and Vivaldi.
I try to seek out anything that would loosely fit into the above genres that I haven’t heard yet.
Movies
Amadeus, Alien, The Exorcist, Blade Runner, Death and the Maiden, Hamlet, Wild at Heart, Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show, Mighty Wind, Birdcage, Full Monty, Dill Scallion, To Die For, O Brother Where Art Thou, The Professional, Immortal Beloved, Quills, Shine, Shaun of the Dead, Frida.
Television
Breaking Bad, Dirty Jobs, Mythbusters, Seinfeld reruns, that’s about it.
Books
The four book series of stories based on Welsh mythology by Evangeline Walton,
And the Ass Saw the Angel (Nick Cave’s novel),
all Shakespeare, all Poe.
Heroes
My husband, my mother, my district manager from years ago (Darrell), Beethoven, George Washington, animal shelters and veterinarians, historical societies, people who are passionate about what they believe in, people who take time out of their lives to spend with friends and family.
About me: Hello, my name is Stephanie. When I first started using this profile, I was uncomfortable using my real name, as I am usually a very private person until I get to know someone. I have since relaxed on that standpoint, well, at least enough to surrender my first name. I took my profile name from a Nick Cave song called, "Where the Wild Roses Grow." If you haven't heard the song, you must remedy that situation as soon as possible. I like spending time at home, but at times I enjoy going to a show to see a band I really like. Although I don’t drink, it doesn’t bother me if others do and I can comfortably spend an evening in a bar with friends. I value friendships very much and I am loyal and giving if I feel that the same would be done for me.
Who I'd like to meet: People who are comfortable either going out to dinner or coming over for dinner with good conversation afterward. I have an off-center, dark sense of humor, so I tend to gravitate to people who don’t easily offend or who are not necessarily politically correct. I also appreciate people who value my friendship.
I love that picture with you in the back of the re-enactors. I keep bugging Rob to lets start re-enacting in gettysburg. I really want to get involved. More less to make and wear the costumes but also for the history and fun of it! someone I worked with at abes said she knew or talked to you. I hope all is well!
