ER is a cross between chaos and control. Beginning in the summer of 2007, Tony, Spencer, Aaron and Thomas combined influences like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Talking Heads, and The Strokes to create an intense kind of disco punk. People in their hometown, Provo, Utah, liked songs like Sweat Swat Swote and Hola May, so they started touring. Pittsburgh welcomed ER to its own NAMU festival in the summer of 2008, alongside such names as Bob Dylan, The Raconteurs and Gnarls Barkley. For 2009, they decided to leave the security of their college lives and embrace the turbulence of making it as a band. They moved into a warehouse close to LA’s Chinatown, where they could play at earth shattering levels all night long. Today, ER’s disco punk tantrum is catching on wherever they go. After releasing two discs, touring the southwest and going through two vans, the band has kept the chaos under control. Or, perhaps, they’ve put the control under chaos.
"This Provo bands drips coolness on each of the five songs off their debut effort."
- Portia Early, City Weekly
"[ER] has thrown aside that ‘too cool’ attitude permeating music venues that prohibit good times and has thrown itself passionately into performing. Thank goodness—we need to get up and dance around here!"
- Square Magazine
"The murderers may be closer than you think. On their debut LP, Elizabethan Report is killing it."
- Spencer Southerland, In Utah
