After her feet went kaput as a dancer (her last days as a modern dancer were at The Juilliard School) she took-up guitar & songwriting as her next art form. She originally set off on documentary filmmaking after Juilliard (receiving a BFA in Film from New York University) but music became more a more compelling interest. Meeting Chris Whitley at age 19 was a major influence in her guitar-playing and wanting pursue music. A childhood listening to Lotte Lenya, Frank Sinatra & Marlene Dietrich started her on her road to being a torch singer. She also was inspired to further her exploration of finger-picking and complex chords after being introduced to Nick Drake. Guitarists from Mali and the Angolan guitarist/singer-songwriter Waldemar Bastos also were heavy influences. ******************************************************************************************************* She performs as The Elizabeth Carpenter Trio, as a jazz vocalist since May 2008 (guitar-playing for her now a medical problem) with a repertoire of over 60 jazz standards including "Skylark", "Baltimore Oriole" and her own song "Flirting" from her CD Flirting (she specializes in Cole Porter tunes, plus just added Billy Strayhorn's "Lush Life" and Ornette Coleman's "Lonely Woman". She met Richard Amster, a fine jazz guitarist in May '08, and they perform with various guest double bass players** For her original songs her style evolved into DISSONANT ROOTS MUSIC - drawn from Blues, Jazz, Rock, Pop, Soul, Latin and Folk traditions. Audiences have compared her to a wide-range of female vocalists & composers - Sam Phillips, Joni Mitchell, Nellie McKay, Ute Lemper, Beth Orton, Dido, Cassandra Wilson, Diana Krall, Aimee Mann and Michelle Shocked. * RECORDINGS: Listen to all songs or buy CD's at CDBABY.COM Image Hosted by ImageShack.us> >>CLICK HERE TO LISTEN TO ALL HER SONGS * Image Hosted by ImageShack.us FLIRTING © 2005 - Click here to BUY CD FLIRTING ~ Her most recent 11 track CD Pop/Rock/Jazz/Soul: Which includes 2 cover songs by HOAGY CARMICHAEL - "SKYLARK" & "BALTIMORE ORIOLE" * For a review on Collected Sounds, COLLECTED SOUNDS REVIEW * Image Hosted by ImageShack.us EMERGENCY LOVE© 2003 - click to BUY the CD Emergency Love 14 track CD on Blueweed Records Her song "Unexpected" made the top Jazz list catagory on Amercian Idol Underground's May list. click here for American Underground rating page * Image Hosted by ImageShack.usTHE BLUEWEED SONGS © 2001 - Her 14 track CD of her more BluesFolk oriented tunes on Blue Girl Records:click here to buy this CD * She also performs as a jazz & standards vocalist with well-known pianist & composer Victor Janusz. Alexandra of Denmark (Alexandra Caroline Marie Charlotte Louise Julia; 1 December 1844 – 20 November 1925) was Queen of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions and Empress of India from 1901 to 1910 as the consort of Edward VII.   Her family had been relatively obscure until her father was chosen with the consent of the great powers to succeed his distant cousin to the Danish throne. At the age of sixteen she was chosen as the future wife of Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, the heir of Queen Victoria.

Domenico Fetti (also spelled Feti, c. 1589 – 1623) was an Italian Baroque painter active mainly in Rome, Mantua and Venice.

His style appears to be influenced by Rubens. He would likely have continued to find excellent patronage in Venice had he not died there in 1623 or 1624. Jan Lys, eight years younger, but who had arrived in Venice nearly contemporaneously, died during the plague of 1629-30. Subsequently, Fetti's style would influence the Venetians Pietro della Vecchia and Sebastiano Mazzone.

Henry Ford Pictures, Images and Photos

Henry Ford (July 30, 1863 – April 7, 1947) was the American founder of the Ford Motor Company and father of modern assembly lines used in mass production. His introduction of the Model T automobile revolutionized transportation and American industry.

Ford had a global vision, with consumerism as the key to peace. Ford did not believe in accountants; he amassed one of the world's largest fortunes without ever having his company audited under his administration. Henry Ford's intense commitment to lowering costs resulted in many technical and business innovations, including a franchise system that put a dealership in every city in North America, and in major cities on six continents. Ford left most of his vast wealth to the Ford Foundation but arranged for his family to control the company permanently.

coincidences are messages from the nonlocal domain, invitations to break our karmic bonds.  coicidences invite us to relinquish the known and embrace the unknown.  a coincidence is a creative, quantum leap in the behavior of the universe itself.  since the known is itself a habit of past conditioning, creativity and freedom exist in the unknown --- anything that breaks through the probability amplitude set by karma.  that is why it is important to look for coicidences, to keep record of them.  when you notice coincidences, you can discover their hidden meanings in your life.
