it would be easier to name the musicians who aren't influences...
Sounds Like
"Lovely Lady [Elizabeth] Eckert brings her sometimes soul-infused country to the table... this singer/songwriter obviously has had no trouble establishing her indie cred, it won't be long before the majors come calling (if they haven't already)"
TIN PAN SOUTH SONGWRITERS FESTIVAL
Classically trained pianist, Eckert turned to songwriting after her performance career ended early with a wrist injury - the result of which has become a captivating contemporary style all her own. Her blend of classical, pop, and funk brings to mind the sounds of Norah Jones, Sara Bareilles, and Regina Spektor.
In the spring of 2009 Elizabeth signed with SlugFest Records Nashville then hit the road for her "2nd Hand Summer Tour". She is currently recording her EP to be release early 2010. Stay tuned!
New pics, new videos and new LIVE tunes going up today! Let me know what you think! Sending some ATX (that's Austin Texas) love out to everyone. Ruby Jane
Btw, "Yours for the Taking" reminds me a ton of "Turn Me On" by Norah Jones. Really similar vibes. Obviously, anything that reminds people of Norah Jones is a good thing! lol
