Latest news: DEATH WILL GET YOU SOBER has been nominated for Deadly Ink's David Award for Best Mystery of 2008. The book's cover design, by David Rotstein, has been nominated for an Anthony award. And yes, they really shot a glass to get the cover picture.
DEATH WILL HELP YOU LEAVE HIM, my new mystery about recovering alcoholic Bruce Kohler and his friends, Jimmy the computer genius and Barbara the world-class codependent, will be out from Minotaur Books in October 2009. In the first book, DEATH WILL GET YOU SOBER, Bruce didn't drink, went to meetings, and investigated a murder. Now a friend's abusive boyfriend is found dead in her apartment, and Bruce has to juggle the investigation, his sobriety, a crush on the bereaved girlfriend, and the lure of his ex-wife, who's on a collision course of her own.
