We are a group of students, professionals and activists in Toronto who found a common interest; In September of 2005, our group was formed and was committed to the revival, collection, and performance of the works of the Egyptian political dissident Sheikh Imam (1918-1995), the lyrics of which (mostly written by his companion Ahmad Fuad Negm) addressed the political and social transformations of the Arab world in the 60s and 70s. These songs of revolution continue to inspire people of the Arab world to this day, providing a source of empowerment to the people and their struggles.
