I am a singer songwriter based on Dartmoor in Devon, England. I have been gigging for a few years now and have been touring with my debut album 'Hold Your Horses' which was released on Febuary 16th 2009. Andy Seward has produced the album and me and my dad are releasing it on our independent record label Monsoon Music with the help of Cadiz Music. I'm honoured to have such a great bunch of really talented people playing and working on the album such as John McCusker, Andy Cutting, Kate Rusby, Donald Shaw, Jim Causley and the Angel Brothers! I also co-wrote the song 'Hidden Scars' with Ethan Johns.
This past year I have also been lucky to support artists such as Jools Holland, Chris Difford, Rachel Unthank And The Winterset, Julie Fowlis, Eliza Carthy, Lucy Wainwright Roche,Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick, Midge Ure and many others. I've got tons of gigs in the pipe line for 2009, including lots of festivals so keep an eye out on my gig listings!
My other website is up and running: www.ellaedmondson.net
I have a great band with me and the minute, we dont play all gigs together but when we do i have Buddy Valentine on Acoustic Bass Guitar and backing vocals, Si Paull on Drums, Djembe and all sorts of stuff and occaisionally have Andy Dinan with us too!
I was born in Hammersmith and lived in London untill i was 15, which is when we moved to Devon. I've been songwriting as long as i can remember, and started playing the guitar when i was about 14. I played my first gig in Exeter supporting a friends band when i was 16 and haven't really stopped. Well thats a lie, i did stop gigging for a while when i went to Canada and qualified as a snowboard instuctor, and i didn't gig much when i was working as a painter and decorator either, but now i gig as much a possible. Now still live in Devon with my boyfriend and our dogs Dave (staffy) and Doreen (rottweiler).

Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?
Ella Edmondson Fans come join her forum as well!!!! Its a nice place so far but a bit too empty and we know there are alot more fans out there. There is a media section with vids of performances such as 'Hunger' on STV, guitar tab/chords for her songs and covers she has done. There are other threads/topics such as gig plans, twitter, interviews and discussions on her albums 'Hold your horses' and 'blame amy'. We would love to see more of you fans coming in to get ella even more noticed. http://s1.zetaboards.com/Ella_Edmondson/index/ <------LINK! x x
I'm so excited to read about your new single. I love Hold Your Horses, it's so energetic.
I've gone to a small cd-shop in my town to get him to order your cd, luckily he could [he's one of the few I've asked who actually has the cd in their database :D], but it's been fours weeks now and it still hasn't arrived. :( I wonder what takes it so long to get across the North sea but I hope it will arrive soon. <3 Can't wait to have the original!
