About Elle Honest expression may be a rare occurrence these days, but up and coming singer-songwriter Elle holds tight to the ideal that the best art draws inspiration from real life. Hailing from Dallas, Texas (by way of Southern California) Elle’s journey thus far has afforded her a familiarity that translates almost effortlessly in her music. Elle’s upcoming debut offering, the Be Calm and Carry On EP spotlights her most honest and heartfelt work to date. An intimate, acoustic look and life and love by an artist influenced by the soulful musings of Lauryn Hill, the earnest lyrics of John Mayer and nearly everything in between. Official Press Release Singer-Songwriter, Elle, to Release debut EP, Be Calm and Carry On, in Triple CD Release Party Dallas, Texas – Clear the schedule for November 7th, 2009 at 9 pm because Curtain Club in Dallas, Texas’ Deep Ellum is hosting a triple CD Release Party featuring singer-songwriter, Elle, as one of the artists. In addition to releasing her debut offering, the Be Calm and Carry On EP, Elle will perform songs from the EP, a collection of six acoustic songs, all written by Elle, and recorded to sound live, as though in a coffee shop. Following Elle and also releasing their albums, hip-hop artists Jackrabbit James and Goat will perform. In February of 2009, Elle released a collaborative CD with the three hip-hop artists before working on her solo work. Elle commented on the nature of the joint CD Release Party: "I'm honored to be included as the only acoustic act in the line-up of all hip-hop artists. There is always great energy when artists of different genres come together for the purpose of sharing music, so I am looking forward to what this eclectic joint CD Release Party will bring.” Accompanying Elle (writer, vocals, acoustic guitar) on Be Calm and Carry On are Casey Clark (guitar, backup vocals, mixing, mastering) and James B.(drums) All recording done by Adam Davis and Artwork by Laura Doughtie.
