DJ Ellen Ferrato has been spinning in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 7 years with her distinctive and cutting edge style that is best described as deep, sexy, groovy, funky, driven house. Ellen exemplifies the phrase "interactive DJ" and loves to play off of the energy of her listeners. In 2000, she won the City Search 7 Audience Award for Best DJ and in 2001 she was voted Best Club DJ in Best of City Search Poll. She also has been a nominee the past 2 years in a row for Best DJ at the Clubbys Award.
She is currently a resident DJ at Club Sugar, Saturday nights at th Stud, 2nd Sunday at Kelly's Mission Rock (summertime party) and Rev Girl Productions at the Beer Celler every Friday. She has also been a guest DJ at various Bay Area venues, including Spundae, Decibal, Mixed Elements, Kit-Kat, Club Faith, the End Up, Qool, R&G Productions, Discover, Snowdrift Red Melon Party, Wednesday Sessions, Rhythmic Trip, and Flavasauce. Ellen has also been a featured DJ at the San Francisco Gay Pride Celebration and Pink Saturday Party for the past 4 years. She has also DJed at several raves in the Bay Area.
Ellen has often traveled outside of the Bay Area to play her distinctive sound at Propoganda in Moscow, Russia, Pheonix Arizona, and Vancouver, B.C. She has also played at several major corporate events, such as the opening of the SF Levis Flagship store in NYC at a Gap event, as well as for parties hosted by many of the Bay Area's Internet firms, including Streaming Media and Reel.com.
Ellen has played with many big name DJ's, such as Doc Martin, Mark Farina, John Howard, Saeed, Basement Jaxx, Choo Choo Romero , Marques Wyatt, Ian Pooley, Deep Dish, Joe Clausall, UFO, David Alvarado, Benji Calderon, Murray Richardson, Thomas Michael, Eddie Richards, DJ Heather, Ashley Beetle, John Aquavivo, DJ Dan, Terry Mullin, Boy George, Mark Tarbinger, and Murray Richardson. She also opened for the band Luscious Jackson. To date, she has produced two CD's: "Turning The Tables" in March, 1998; and "BPM Volume Three Mixed by Ellen Ferrato" in 1997.
