I began playing saxophone in 1969 at age 10, inspired by my mother Bobbie Lee, who played Hammond B3 organ with her own groups in Baltimore during the early 1960's. My father is the late Rodd Keith, cult hero to music collectors around the world for his work as a composer, keyboardist and vocalist in the little known field of song-poem music.
I live in Manhattan (since 1983) and tour internationally with my own ensembles and as a member of a variety of other groups, focusing on improvisational music. Most of my recordings are on the Swiss hatOLOGY label although I've recently been releasing new music on my own "prime source" label. Please visit the prime source web site for complete information on all the releases.

"Eskelin demonstrates his distinctive melange of flavors and intensities throughout,
and the band exudes intelligence without borders...Besides being an impressive and expansive statement of what this unusual band is all about, Quiet Music also marks the throwing of Eskelin's hat into the expanding ring of artist-run labels, in this case his new company prime source." Hello Ellery, thanks for the add. It's a great honour for my, to share with you east space. Congratulations for your music and the way you play it!!! Greetings from Spain.
Thanks so much for the add, the kind an reflective message–and your friendship. We enjoyed your music very much. Thanks for sharing it with all of us. It's a pleasure having you among our friends!
We hope you and your friends enjoy our music, too. We've just added four new compositions and two new blogs about Umano.
We wake up every morning and play the music of the new MySpace friends who have arrived at our site during the night. It occurred to us that these friends (you are among them) are almost universally positive, whether they be novices or legends, and without regard to their station in life or the country they occupy.
It also occurred to us that we couldn’t hold a verbal conversation with most of these friends, but we have bridged that gap by expressing our art honestly with each other.
We all have been filling the world with our music and art, in the hope that our messages of love and human understanding will have an impact on the world at large.
What a gift and what an opportunity we have received from this technology!
