About Ellie Lawson

South London Urban/Folk/Pop artist Ellie Lawson has just released her much anticipated 2nd album named 'Lost Songs' on March 31st 2009. After a year on Atlantic Records and living in NYC for two years promoting her debut album 'The Philosophy Tree', Ellie is back with her unique blend of self-help style lyrics, intimate confessions and laid back vocal style. This new darker album was recorded in the UK and New York, unlike her debut which was made in LA with 'jump around' producer DJ Lethal. 'Lost songs' has tracks produced by Jony Rockstar (Sugababes) Future Cut (Lily Allen) and Yoad Nevo (Jem) and shows a maturity and originality in sound and lyric. The new album boasts 18 songs, a fraction of what Ellie has written. She decided, alongside her writing partner and guitarist Dave Harewood that 'enough was enough' and that it was time to put an album out, at the very least for the fans of her first album to enjoy. With fans such as Ellen De Generes, who on her daytime TV show said that she has "played Ellie's music over and over again in her house and can't say enough about it" and Billboard magazine who quoted that 'The Philosophy Tree' was 'the perfect marriage of melody, rhythm and voice', it is clear that Ellie is not short of praise for what she does. Most recently Quiksilver have made Ellie an ambassador for the new high street clothing range 'Quiksilver Woman' and she will be marketed and promoted in Europe, USA and Australia throughout 2009 and beyond.
