Born and raised in Waukegan Illinois 50 miles north of Chicago, 1 of four children, and the only girl.Mom was a homemaker and Dad was sales vendor for Hostess. For as long as I could remember I used to think my dad was Elvis Presley, because he would always walk around the house singing Elvis songs, and he even had the black flipped back hairdo.
I also remember sitting on my Grandmas lap while she would sing and play her Hammond organ. I never learned how to play the organ but always wanted to. So I guess I would say that my musical background stems from my father being Elvis Presley.:)
I would have to say that my musical career didn't really start till my 21rst birthday, I went to see, of all things a Country Band! As fate would have it I ended up dating the drummer. A short time later we packed up and moved to Chattanooga TN. Where I became a bartender at a huge club, where national
acts played on constant basis. I remember always wanting to be the star not the bartender. A short time later after becoming homesick, we moved back to the Midwest a small town in Wisconsin called EauClaire.
After moving back to Eau Claire I joined a local Band that was playing a lot of bars and nightclubs. I wrote my first original song “The Musicians Wife” a little over 10 years ago, and tucked it away with all the poems I've been writing throughout my life.
In 2007 I was watching CMT, they were having a video competition, called CMT MADNESS, I told the band I wanted to put a video together, so me and my Guitar player co-wrote a song called “Waiting just for you” We went to a local nite club and recorded the video live, and entered in the contest. My video went to the top 8 in the competition.I was tickled to see my video being streamed on CMT television. The excitement of the CMT contest is what pushed my music career to the next level.
Over the next several months I wrote 10 more songs and recorded my first album called “The Musicians Wife”. Off my first album 2 of the songs were being played on Clear Channels independent network of 400 different radio stations nationwide. The song “Carla Sue” went to 2 for 11 weeks. During this time , I
also entered my CMT video of “Waiting just for You” into a video competition that GAC was running called “The next GAC Star” again streaming my video on GAC nationwide.
Throughout the next year we started traveling back and forth between Nashville and Wisconsin. I was lucky enough to be involved in some writing sessions with some very talented writers, and to perform at several different venues in the Nashville area. Because of hard work, friends, and prior contacts made over the past 3 or 4 years, I have been fortunate enough to have made some great industry contacts, not to mention all the friends Ive made!
By Gods will, I have most recently been but in touch with Keith Follese / Midas Records who is now producing my current album “More Of What Matters” This album is due for release October 2009 under the Jett Records Label. I am lucky enough to have some of the top songwriters in Nashville such as Keith & Adrianne Follese, Hillary Scott, M Caine, Jessica Harp, Victoria Shaw, Jamey Johnson, Kim Tribble, and a few more.... I also have 1 co-write with Keith and Adrianne Follese and 1 sole write. The album is being recorded at Bigger Dog Studios in Nashville TN, it is an amazing record! Being produced by one of Nashville's best.
The last few years of my career have truly been blessed by family, friends and musicians, and they are what matters most.I am so happy to be able to do what I love most and that is my music!
A special thankyou to all the people who belive in me and buy my records and come to my shows! With out all of you I would not be living the dream! Thankyou! Ellie
