Flying the flag for Dundee hip-hop, elligitimate reps to tha fullest, voicing his anger against capitalism and the exploitation that it brings. Boasting a solid, emotional flow, and straight-up head-bussin’ beats, ’giti uses his music as a vehicle to express and highlight the nation’s great discontent with the ever-increasing poverty-stricken social climate that is so prevalent throughout the country. "Fuck the popo, fuck the queen and fuck the monarchy!" are more than rap cliches but are at the forefront of elligit-man’s philosphies, his dark rap noir tells socialist tales of frustration and disappointment, whilst retaining a sense of hope for better times ahead. So fuck all that materialist hip-hop, all style and no content and peep this real shit!
elligitimate is also one half of the electrolites (d.b.), and a founding member of gellyphilms, an independant film company, and is involved in the running of many creative youth movements throughout the local area.

Phil Kieran is switching gears again. After three years of almost total dedication to his critically acclaimed Alloy Mental project ( www.myspace.com/alloymental), the Belfast DJ and producer is back to doing what he does best, making his own distinctive brand of dance music. Kieran has dug out the old techno gems , reflected on early influences like Joy Division and Aphex Twin, tipped his hat to newcomers like Marc Houle and Audion, and set to work on producing a catalogue of sure-fire dancefloor killers, for offer over the coming months. Last year Phil brought us ’Skyhook’ on Novamute and hooked up with Cocoon to release ‘I think I’m a monster’. Following both tracks widespread success the German label is also set to unleash ’Missp’ in March 08. Recent remix work includes ‘Hold my hand’ for UNKLE and the upcoming ‘Dancing Bears’ for Roel H, which is set to be massive.

His recognised hit “Loneliness” that was released in 2002 may have been responsible in part for this when it shot straight to pole position in the British sales charts. With recognised status in the bag and his constant search for higher levels in his mind, in October 2003 TOMCRAFT set up his first independent label, Great Stuff Recordings, followed by Craft Music in 2005, on which national and international acts such as GusGus, The Egg, Rockers Hi-Fi, Lützenkirchen and Oliver Koletzki released records and the imprint with its high-quality tunes which went on to become one of the most popular in the world in the shortest possible time. The range is as varied and open-minded here as with TOMCRAFT himself, and in this way the one-time trancer has long
