The group appeared in 2002, result of contact of three classical guitarists friends, Rafael milhomem, João Batista Albernaz and João Fernandes,at that time, have concluded the graduate in music at UFG (Federal University of Goiânia).The album was released in September 2006 with special guest Wallace Patriarca on percussion in Three tracks.
The name El Ligno was extracted from Esperanto that mean word for word: " from wood", the same meaning has the Arabic word alaúde or lute, one of olders instruments of guitar..s family.

Grupo estruturado em 2002 no meio musical acadêmico de Goiânia. Formado pelos violonistas João Batista Albernaz, Rafael Milhomem e João Fernandes, contando também com a participação especial de Wallace Patriarca em três faixas do CD. A ideia do nome veio do idioma esperanto; literalmente a palavra el ligno significa: que veio da madeira.Pode-se fazer uma analogia com a palavra al ud ou alaúde (um dos precursores do violão) que significa: a madeira. Desde sua formação o grupo se apresenta regularmente em seu estado, tanto em recitais em teatros, quanto em abertura de seminários, convenções, inaugurações, casamentos etc. Em setembro de 2006 foi lançado seu primeiro CD que pode ser adquirido pelo e-mail rmilhomem@hotmail.com ou pelos telefones (62)36229671 / (62)81265841.

No I have not written a guitar trio yet. The guitar quartet PRISMOPHONY and several guitar duos are all that I have. Please get in touch if you are interested to have me write a piece for your group.
