“You’ve got the tapping thing down man!” – Frank Turner
“Crazy s**t, he will give you an eargasm” – Dave McPherson (InMe)
“…extending the acoustic guitar’s range to that of a 68-piece symphonic orchestra – ish” – lincolnbands.co.uk
"One of the best young musical talents in the country", "...his talent is so astounding yet effortless" - BBC Introducing
Twenty year old Elliott Morris has been playing electric guitar since the age of 11 and acoustic guitar for three and a half years. For the past two years Elliott has been performing his own solo acoustic guitar music. Since Feb 2008 he has supported names such as Erik Mongrain, Andy McKee, Guy Buttery, Kit Holmes, Tristan Seume, Gareth Pearson, Dave McPherson and Ben Konstantinovic (from rock band InMe), Baddies, Jim Bob (from Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine) and Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick.
Notable 2008 shows for Elliott included a performance at Headstock – Nottingham’s very own acoustic guitar festival and Boston’s Party in the Park, in front of an audience of about 10 000! Elliott also played both a solo and band set at the Cambridge Folk Festival, the same festival that he had a guitar lesson and jam session with Newton Faulkner the year before.
Although Elliott is a singer/songwriter, his playing style varies from most as he uses the guitar like a percussion instrument as well as a stringed one. He beats the body of the guitar at the same time as playing it, creating an original and unique sound.
In January 2009 Elliott performed at The Hub in Sleaford as part of the exhibition “Guitars – made in Britain, played the world over”, alongside names such as Martin Taylor, Martin Simpson, Newton Faulkner, Gordon Giltrap, Gareth Pearson, Tristan Seume and Bert Jansch. At the concert was Martin Harrison of Hania guitars, who agreed to build Elliott an acoustic guitar to his specification. This guitar was completed in September 2009 and Elliott plays it at all his shows!
Elliott performs regularly in Lincoln, his home city. He has become the resident artist at Dogma in Lincoln and both co-runs and headlines their acoustic night every Thursday. Since January, alongside regular Lincoln gigs, Elliott has played shows in Edinburgh, Nottingham, Buxton (at the guitar gathering and the Beltane Bar) and also many concerts in London, including two headline shows. Elliott is also a regular at Dave McPherson's acoustic night at ONeills in Essex. He has been playing there about once a month for about half a year now.
To date, Elliott has performed live on BBC Radio Lincolnshire 7 times, including a very special show from Broadcasting House in London. He has played live sets on Siren FM (Lincoln's community radio station) many times and was also Bristol Burst Radio's featured artist of the week in early 2009.
In October 2009, Elliott was asked to perform at Lexapalooza Lite at the Flowerpot in Kentish Town, London. This was an all day charity festival for Breast Cancer Campaign at which Elliott played alongside artists such as Frank Turner, Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, Chris T-T, Dave McPherson, Emily Barker and the Red Clay Halo, Beans on Toast and many others. For a review of the show, along with audio and pictures, visit the following link -
After completely selling out his debut EP, Elliott released This Is All I Am in June 2009. He is playing all over the country all of the time to support this!

I literally just found that comment you left me in august. I never use myspace man! Also, I think I should point out that in your video for All I Am, that Mr.Box fellow is really sexy, I think we should see more of him in future ElliottMorrisProductions. Just a suggestion x
hi there, thanks for adding us, nice to be your virtual friends. nice playing - being fans of thomas leeb, it's cool to see the tapping combined with singing?
thanks for the add. you've got some wicked stuff, really like it! love your playing, im a big fan of Andy Mckee. awesome how you've incorperated that style in your songs.
we definately have a free song for you to have at www.hyhi.co.uk you definately should go there now and download it now definately thank you please excuse me x
Hi Elliot. I've been around for quite a while on your profile. I
changed my music name from my real name James Stark as there are
hundreds of other James Starks including a musician from the US. Some
sites like ilike.com and the iTunes genius service flip out when it
encounters musicians with the same name. If you remember I wrote
something about Erik Mongrain and alternative tunings. I've been a bit
slack on adding all the contacts from my old account. No doubt you've
come on a lot since I last listened to your music.
It would be a real honour to consider me as a support act. Although we're at opposite ends of the country, most likely I wont be living in Cornwall forever (to develop my non-musical career) and it might be a possibility one day.
I've yet to publicise it as it's brand spanking new, but I've got an EP out. Only a pound to download at jamescorachea.bandcamp.com
Thanks for the friendship, check out our really rough as sandpaper demos! But leave us a comment also, with your opinions!! Cheers Again! Al, dom And rhods x
Thanks for dropping by. I found you on the Shure Awards website.
Madame Pepper played at my night and she came 2nd runner up. I was checking her out and saw you. Brilliant playing. Would love you to play my monthly music night the SHEBEEN SESSIONS at 3 Blind Mice in Shoreditch sometime. Let me know if you're interested.
