elmo's Comedian Bio
|
| Bio | Good friends Jeff Scherer and Michele Medlin have performed separately in dozens of improv groups in theaters around New York. After a stint together on the team Pygmy Marmalade, they decided to do a two-person, slow improv show in the style of WeirDass, TJ & Dave, and Ernie & Bert. They have become regulars at the two-person improv showcase Ampers&nd and the variety show Ash Wednesday, both at the Magnet Theater, and have also made appearances at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and Dirty South Improv. They chose the name ELMO by combining their nicknames, El Jefe and Mo Nose. They still haven't decided how to spell it. | | Members | Michele O. Medlin and Jeff Scherer |

About me:
JEFF SCHERER hails from Rochester, NY and Wilmington, DE, among other places, but New York City has become his hometown. He studied Writing for TV, Film & Radio at Syracuse University, and has written four screenplays, of which Skeletons was a semi-finalist both at the Austin Film Festival and on Project Greenlight. He and his friends formed the theatrical group Toolbox Productions and produced three plays, two of them at the NY International Fringe Festival: St. Rosita & the Francophone (which he co-wrote with Jeremy Carr), and Pipe Bomb Sonata (in which he played several roles). Since getting involved with improv comedy, Jeff has been in over a dozen teams and shows, performing at variety shows and theaters around New York, and plays to large audiences around the country as a member of the Chicago City Limits touring company. He is currently writing a children's book, a novel and an original series for television.
MICHELE O. MEDLIN began her illustrious career as the "Little Girl" in Annie Get Your Gun, which was fortunate as she was 6 years old. From there, she tirelessly worked across the American West singing her heart out to anyone her mother could pay to listen and hosted a radio show called "Young at Heart". She was 10, but sounded 6. Her voice sounds exactly as it did at then, which helps her career as a Japanese Anime voiceover 'artist'. Eventually, Michele made the inevitable move to New York, where she did a crappy children's theatre tour, helped to start a great little theatre company and now performs improv comedy with elmo, The Strange Box of Dr. Oddbody and the all-girl Chicken Ranch.
