“Guildford in Surrey is a lovely place; it’s intimate, classy and rather pretty. Much the same can be said for the pop-rock styling’s of the town’s own Elmor, a band that promise good things with new single ‘Remember Thinking’. The track weighs in at a modest two minutes fifty six, but the guys have positively crammed this short runtime with gorgeous hooks.
The sound is big and tuneful, the strong vocals shimmering over a heady concoction of pretty high-end guitar work and throbbing bass and punctuated by well-placed handclaps. The Vodafone Live Music Awards took place at the Carling Academy in Brixton on the 18th of September 2008 hosted by Steve Jones and Juliette Lewis.
Thankyou to ALL who voted for us and we can reveal that we did win as runners up and are now officially the second best unsigned live band in the UK! The whole night was amazing for us and there will be more to come!
Radio interviews in LA and TV appearances in Hollywood; being challenged to a drinking contest by WWE Wrestler ‘The Miz’ (and beating him hands down); the soundtrack behind the launch of Henri Lloyd Jeans, reaching the No1 spot on indiestore and (almost bizarrely) No17 in the national charts of Qatar with their recent double A-side ‘Remember Thinking’. Welcome to Elmor’s world.
Luke, Tristan, Andy, John, and Rich are back with their second single to feed fan demand and intense industry interest alike. Ending their June UK tour with a monumental home-coming performance at Guilfest, playing to a huge crowd on the Ents24 stage, Elmor are surely the hottest new indie band leaping out of the underground circuit and into the attention of the mainstream masses.
The band can now count celebs such as Mark Ronson (catching them at the Vodafone Live Music Awards) and Natasha Bedingfield as fans; with the latter popping down to the band’s Britbus Showcase at London’s O2 Islington Academy tour show in June, declaring their song ‘Little Bit’ as a firm personal favourite.
Admiration for the band doesn’t stop there.
