Elnordia was created by Roman Smirnov (bass) and Vladimir Karman (guitar) in February 2004. The first achievement of the band was participation in the compilation of Russian doom metal bands “Doom-art compilation 2005” which has been released by Stygian Crypt label. A composition “My desire” was recorded at the Navahohut studio in September 2005 for the compilation. Afterwards “My Desire” got positive reports from the audience. At the same time there was made a decision about searching for female vocals.
The first performance of the band took place in R-Club (Moscow) on the 2nd of April 2006 and got a good estimation of the audience. After that, Elnordia has received some new suggestions about taking part in different fests. By the present time Elnordia has taken part in a dozen of gigs in Moscow and Saint-Petersburg at the same stage with different famous Russian bands, it has expanded its audience as well.
And the main achievement - Elnordia has recorded and released its first album “Insight”, which consists of 9 compositions with a total length of 47 minutes.

"On September, 10’2007 an independent label MAZZAR/MYSTIC EMPIRE has produced a debut album of ELNORDIA, moscow gothic doom death metal band. That’s quite difficult to define the common style of “Insight”, because it is different in each of the 9 songs. Here you will find: an entwinement of melancholic doom and mightiness of death, combining with a subtle atmosphere and symphonic passages. Simple and recognizable melodies are surrounded by a complicated composition structure and polyphony. Voice parts are well-blended with an instrumental background and they are built in a classical scheme “a beauty and the beast”- a low, luscious male growling is echoed by a female soprano somewhile exceeded to a hysterical screaming. The record was made at the Faust Records studio (Save) in August- October’2006. All works connected with mixing and mastering have been made by Andrei Klyushnikov (Uma2rman, Solar, Azazello) and were finished in April’2007.
The art design of the CD has been made by Aleksey Shepelin, who had his first experience in designing of a METAL band album coverage. He used all facets of his profound and wide design talent and taste, without concentrating on any definite conception, and succeeded in it."
