The El Orbits began in 1997 as the Monday night house band at Houston's Satellite Lounge. The band outlasted the club and later took up residency as the Monday night house band at the Continental Club in Houston. The band has also played extended residencies at Austin's Continental Club, Flipnotics Coffeehouse, San Antonio's Casbeers and The Martini at Chianti restaurant (Houston). The band has backed up legends Big Walter Price, Chuck Berry, Big Robert Smith, Archie Bell, Andre Williams, Barbara Mason, Roy Head and many more. The El Orbits have four full-length CD's (available through TexasMusicRoundup.com) and have toured the west coast, midwest and areas around and throughout Texas. The El Orbits has gone through several different line-ups over the years which have included the following band members: David Beebe (Founder), Jim Henkel, Allen Hill, Thomas Escalante, Landis Armstrong, Chris Johnson, Eric C. I was really fired up to win the second door prize last night so I went right home to play with them.
After knocking back about a dozen Lone Stars, I smoked the whole pack of those dreamsicles skinny cigars and drove four hours with a depends on to see a girl I met here on myspace outside New Orleans to give her the Valentine's card. Well, she looked a bit different and had more hair than in her pics but I told her about the night of love, put one of your cd's on and we danced the night away. She must have had her cell phone in her pocket because i have this welt up on my thigh now. We shared a lovely Beef Ramen Breakfast and I made it back to work just in time. I owe it all to you guys and girl.
