   About ELOWEN
Elowen is the love-child of the Original Wednesday Soup Sessions and a Cocky Magpie.

We have been together since August 2006, and are trying to a) play enough gigs so that we can b) get it out of our systems...

If you are interested in booking us, please contact us -

elowen@wyrdhouse.co.uk

We've now finished what had started out as demo, and is now a full-blown 14 track CD! We've sent out copies for pre/review - take a look at our blog for some unbiased opinions!

If you would like a copy of it, please get in touch!

(please see my blog):
TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001

Where traditions are not so rare;
    Sea, country and works scent the air;
A multitude of monuments,
    Planted tubs and patterned pavements.

The longish pedestrian malls;
    The remnants of defensive walls;
Historic buildings are a gauge
    Of the respect for heritage.

Wheat, rape and pines in the fields;
    Estuaries guarded by shields;
Long sandy beaches and wide scenes;
    Romantic-ruin go-betweens.

Rivers in parts licked by trees,
    Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries,
And crossed by practical delights -
    Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.

Fine churches headed at Durham;
    Football kits ad infinitum;
Kept castles - one for study;
    Masonry behind masonry.

And, with moulding-works out that way,
It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?

Hi Phil,
as long as you haven't your own MySpace site (?), I only could catch you here.
It was a great pleasure to meet you at the sessions in the King's Arms/Lostwithiel.
Only a pity, that Kim wasn't there, too.
But nevertheless it was great fun with all of the folks there, please send them greetings from me and my wife, you've been so kind.
Perhaps we'll meet again somewhere down the road some day.
Cheers, Sláinte, Prost,
Detlef

(Hi: enjoyed my visit.)

After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on myspace...

Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse
(please see my blog):
WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN

Once drove an old sedan, up north,
From a place in Sydney to Cairns;
Then to Kuranda I went forth,
By train, to look without set plans.

I browsed through the trendy market,
With fresh fruits of tropical kind;
Walked to the creek through lush thicket -
Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.

I dined in a scenic cafe;
Then, outside, as I wrote for yen,
Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey,
You go walkabout with your pen.”

Request or question, I don’t know -
Assured voices, elderly men.
That’s now several years ago,
And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.

One of the birds that I miss living in England compared to Canada, I wouldn't win going home though as I would then miss the dainty Robin for a start! I will be trying to leave a picture comment at least once a month from now on as I just don't have the time like I used to. If I can get two in though; I will! Blessed Be to all. Joolz.

Only a glimpse at shimmering speed. A presence so grand stunning indeed. A sign of great love....the hummingbird ~ Desi Faraci Leavitt

With wings spun of silver and hearts of gold, These tiny creatures our hearts behold. With angelic features and colors so bright, Make even the heaviest heart seem light. The magical way they flit through the sky, They appear, then vanish in the blink of an eye. They're sending a message for us to retrieve, Anything's possible for those who believe! ~ Winged Jewel - Unknown

The Hummingbird symbolizes transformation. She guides the young children through the Nierika, the doorway to the Other World. She brings them to all of the places of power and knowledge. ~ Myth of the Huichol Indians of Mexico
