el is one of only a handful of genuinely original and important record labels in the history of popular music.
el Records first began in 1985, set up by Mike Alway, releasing records by would-be-goods, bad dream fancy dress, king of luxembourg ,momus, shock headed peters, vic godard, marden hill, louis philippe, anthony adverse and many more.
Now in 2005 el is releasing brand new albums as the sound Of Chartreuse by The Sixth Form and Continuous Electric Now. These albums showcase Mike Alway's use of the studio as a time machine, the real heart and conremporary conceptualistion of el beats on in these releases, these albums are absurdly underrated and absolutely genius.
The albums released on el have changed the lives of those touched by them and transcended popular music to affect design and fashion and the cultural attitudes of a generation.
el is more important now than it has ever been both with it's re-issues by artists such as Ennio Morricone, Nino Rota, Denny Doherty, The King's Singers, Les Baxter, Elizabeth Taylor & John Barry, Rita Lee, Simon Turner, Stu Phillips and many, many more as well as with the sound of chartreuse releases.
We are trying to settle a fued. Who is better...Cilla Black or (Sir) Cliff Richard? What do you think? We'd love to know. By the way, I love Cilla and Charlie loves (Sir) Cliff.
Apart from this nonsese, I hope all is well in your world?
Society is afraid of your wild natures afraid of your naturalness, so from the very beginning, it starts cutting your wings.
And the most dangerous possibility in you is the possibility of love.
Because if there is love, you can go even against the whole world.
If you know your being, there is no question of becoming.
All that you could have ever imagined to become you already are.
You are gods who have forgotten who they are.
You are emperors who have fallen asleep and are dreaming that they have become beggars.
Now beggars are trying to become emperors, in dreams they are making great efforts to become emperors, and all that is needed is to wake up! You may be the last generation which has be the possibility to rebel.
And if you don't rebel there may be no more chances.
Humanity can be reduced to a robot like existence.

At the time, our best theory was that it was a collective of bored aristocratic children playing at being pop stars. Forgive us, Mr. Alway, if we take all the revelations since as a cover-up by their élders.
Well, it seems that an awful lot of people are just using this page as an advertising board. I guess that I might have more of a right to do this than most of them, so, here goes:
