I am 30 years old. I was born in the Bronx, but raised in Spanish Harlem. I grew up listening to Salsa music. My dad was my biggest influence in music. He had a six piece band for over 25 years. The type of music he played was merengue,trio,salsa,and x-mas songs. I remember playing congas with him at the age of 8.
At the age of 21, I met another person that became my music angel(as i like to call him) Mr. Eddie Iglesias. This man inspired me to live my dream. Eddie was a well known person in the music circle. He played a red trombone and sang english songs for Bobby Rodriguez Y la Compania and Joe Batan. He also started his own band called "The Bad Street Boys". Eddie introduced me to a lot of musicians such as: Bobby Ridriguez,Martin Arroyo,Frankie Vazquez,Joe Batan,Willie "The Horn" Rodriguez and many more. Charlie Salinas was another person he introduced me to. I began to take timbal lessons with Charlie. I have learned and continue to learn from him. Charlie took me from playing timbal at home to playing with bands.
Today I have a Salsa latin jazz band called "JOHNNY MAMBO Y EL RICO SON". We have been together for about 2 years now. We play at different locations in NYC. We also perform at private parties such as: Birthdays, Wedding,Graduations,Anniv.
Who I'd like to meet: I like to meet people who are fun to be around with. I also like to meet down to earth musicians. I enjoy being around musicians whose minds I can pick and learn from. I am very lucky that I have met a nice amount of musicians that have great heart such as: Eddie Iglesia (R.I.P.) Bobby R (R.I.P) Charlie Salinas, Willie The Horn,Augie
Rivera, Angel(Papo)Rivera, David Meletiche,Rafael Primo,Frankie Vazquez,Eddie Rivera and many many more. All these people have played a great role in my life one way or another....Thank You All..

In my line of work, I come across ALOT of fathers....if only they were 10% of the father that you are...the kids would be emotionaly & behavior wise... so much better. Anyway my point is, keep doing what your doing. Congratulations, on being such an awesome dad! Luv U lots!
