"Some bands
claim to be rock'n'roll, but Elvis is Dead truly
are."
"Like the Darkness, but for people who actually
like metal."
Elvis is Dead started from the ashes of an earlier project
of original founding members Kyle & JD. After a few early
shake ups, the line up was settled. Cid was recruited on
bass. Vocals were not so easy - Si was drafted in 2 days
before 1st rehearsal. Last but not least Rob arived on
drums to fill the 5th spot. Unfortunately, Kyle decided to
leave the band in early 2006, and the band continued as a
four piece for a while, with Si picking up the guitar.
Later in the year, Mr Sean Van Rock was recruited on
guitar, once again completing the lineup.

Press Reviews of Elvis is Dead at Junktion 7 -
05/07/06
"Finally to end this first heat we have some glam rock n
roll from Derby's Elvis is Dead. They kicked straight in
with their fast and powerful riffs and from the start they
had a mass of umph to their sound which the others seemed
to lack. The powerful riffs were complemented perfectly by
the clear and powerful vocal and as the drums smashed down
this band were showing some real togetherness with a very
tight performance. They had a good dynamic and build their
tunes well, kicking in and out at just the right times to
build atmosphere and emotion in their sound. They let the
music do the talking with their catchy and powerful glam
rock n roll and as the set progressed the crowd grew and by
the end they had a full room clapping along."
"All kinds of rock n roll thrown into a big melting pot
with the tiny spice of heavy metal! I'd say they're verging
onto hard rock territory being able to draw in their
various different influences that formulate well, sounding
solid and transcribe successfully into their live set.
Particularly the bass player, who looks totally wacky
onstage, there's a good interaction/reaction between the
band members and the crowd. In every way imaginable they
put on a fantastic show with top songs like You Little
Tramp. Overall scoring some big points manage to scoop the
victory to progress through to the next heat."
Here's the whole of First in Line, recorded for us by Dan
from Babydeltic
Productions at our heat-winning performance at Junktion
