Language, international travel/tourism, writing, digital videography, the Macintosh computer, second-hand shopping, eating all I can at the all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet, intense air conditioning, Near Eastern and South Asian culture and history, procrastination, saying I will move but not doing so, complaining about public transport, buying frozen food at the local supermarket and arranging it in my freezer like books on a bookshelf, researching my interests on the Internet.
In the digital realm, my favorite Web sites are probably best represented by my online links at delicious.com/elyaqim. ¶ I have become embarrassingly addicted to Google products, and now I do almost anything I can online: Google Calendar, Google Docs, Blogger, Google Reader, YouTube, Orkut, Picasa Web.

I am a geographically isolated Jewish Bronxite gay Jewish–New Yorker living in northwestern Queens who loves Near Eastern, North African, South and Central Asian culture (language, music, clothing, film stars, collectables, history), as well as old-time female vocalists and musicals. I am very secular, progressive, and decidedly childfree. I have traveled to México, Canada, Turkey, Morocco and Egypt.
(It should be “whom.”) Those who share any of my interests so we can spend time together, chat about language, culture and history, listen to music, and go to social and educational events.
Do you like the old-time women singers like I do? Do you like movie musicals and recordings of musical theater (Western or Eastern)? Do you like various facets of Near Eastern, North African, South and Central Asian culture? Do you collect old or ethnic or unusual music? Do you have a sharp sense of humor with a progressive or leftist edge? Do you like learning about diverse languages and the scripts used to write them? Are you an amateur (or professional) videographer or filmmaker? Do you simply desire a relationship with an articulate, witty, intelligent, interesting, stocky, gay Jewish-American in his forties?
I really prefer to be contacted by those in the New York City Metropolitan Area to facilitate actual face-to-face socializing. Also, old friends from GLYNY, the New Pacific Academy, GMoB, Arbeter Ring, YIVO or wherever are welcome to contact me.
Hello. Thank you for your continued support. We hope to see you at our NO COVER show in NYC Wednesday
July 29th 8pm at the Sidewalk Cafe: 94 Avenue A
And stay tuned for the release of a new single in the fall.
Bright stars to you!

Happy New Year. Nice, new place!! Are we going to have an, "unofficial" naming ceremony for your abode? - hey, I know it's not a house, but, "HOME". -And any excuse to bring over food Nosh, I never pass up. (I can do Kosher Pot Luck).
Wishing you a Hoppy Birthday — as you skip into YOUR new year. Finishing a re-mix for a track called "Insects"... oh the irony! :) Sadly... no classic Divas for you in this mix...
