Embrace The Tide have a history of being a pretty tight band on the whole, both with their recordings and live sets.
Mathematical hardcore is the name of the game and it’s all looking good with people right up front, a frontman who won’t stop talking and a tight formation.
The set was tight on the music side of things, as well drilled as any self-respecting hardcore band should be.
Embrace the Tide are an established Milton Keynes based five piece who produce technical, melodic metal which is cleverly fused with aspects of other styles and genres. They combine a wide range of influences, creating a unique sound which allows something new and fresh to be brought to the music scene.
Since their formation in December 2008, Embrace the Tide have already shared the stage with the likes of Exit Ten, Sacred Mother Tongue, Forever Never, Shadows Chasing Ghosts and Fellsilent despite the band having an average age of only 18.

We have finally finished our debut EP "Salvation." Thanks to everyone who has patiently waited for it to be completed, we just wanted to make this release as good as possible and so we've put alot of time and effort into revising and finalizing parts and creating the right sound.
Our EP will feature all rerecorded parts and will be an improvement in terms of both musicality and recording quality over the versions currently on here. More details will be coming soon so keep checking back for news and updates!
AMPJam EP REVIEW
Some time ago I caught Embrace The Tide at the Craufurd, the set wasn’t exactly their best, they knew it, the fans knew it and we knew it. The band were capable of pushing themselves a lot further and now have a new Ep to prove it. Metalcore is the name of the game and though it’s not anything totally original within the confines of the concrete city there’s something of a poetic license to this gathering of recordings, seven tracks under the name of “Salvation”.
Over the time I’ve written about bands I’ve noticed a lot of bands go for the screamo styles when it comes to metal, I’m not sure if that’s just plain ignorance on my behalf or if it’s an actual trend but with Embrace The Tide, and on this particular Ep, it’s generally just one facet of the whole package. Sure, you have the juddering riffs and growls along with a technical side to things, but it’s not afraid to take things down a notch to a simple melody and powerbeat with Chris taking on an almost operatic vocal style.
For that, just check out “No Place Like Rome” for all of it’s gritty sound it can get smooth right in the middle or even at the start of “If Make Up Was Gold…” which might even make you forget what you’re listening too for a few seconds, dare I say that it’s even “poppy”. But I’m not going to lie, the core is huge bombastic chords, screams, technical leads and a heavy backbeat, so the main market for this is people who like the metalcore genre but I reckon there’s enough to bridge a few gaps too.
But another merit outside the Ep is that it’s not just a collection of tracks, whatever the intention, the tracks are seamless and almost non-stop and it seems a fair amount of thought has gone into it. With all the ideas at play though, I’m intrigued to see how far these guys can take them.
The actual recording apparently took a total of five months at Core Studios with HOAC’s Tim, with some tracks not making the grade and others being written to replace them. That said the result is a seamless work that isn’t just well tempered but actually flows from track to track, a good few times I forgot that I was onto the next track. I never thought I’d say this about a metalcore recording, but with the mix of vocal styles and the general flow it’s actually an easy one to listen to. Keep an eye out for these guys in action.
