Music
I play vio/mandolin, basic guitar, and sing. My musical tastes are as varied as they could possibly be, if you ask me.
I basically don't care much about what genre I'm listening to -- as long as I feel it and it speaks to me. If I'm moved, it's good.
Movies
Now, it's just pointless for me to even begin listing off movies. Seriously. Just about as pointless as it was for me to try to list my musical tastes.
I like what moves me.
I'm a geek for political rants a la Al Franken and Michael Moore; also for true disaster tales, like Nathaniel Philbrick's "In the Heart of the Sea: the tragedy of the Whaleship Essex."
If it's disasters at sea or some horrid tale of desperate survival, I tend to like it. Which... well, I think also in a way sums up the political writings I like.
At the end of the month (August, '07) my Uncle Gary's novel, "Sing, Ronnie Blue" will be out. I'm positive it's destined to do well, and what I've read of it has had me totally enthralled, so check it out.

About me: I FINALLY figured out how to get my gigs up on this page! You will notice, I hope, that I'm playing with a few different folks at the moment:
The Gwen Mitchell Band -- we anticipate having our album out by Christmas! I am excited about it.

I've been one of the "Friends" of Alex Hoffer and Friends for a while now, playing Dave Matthews, Jack Johnson and a few others' covers as well as some originals; it's always a blast!
I also love playing blues with Little Johnny, a pro bluesman from the northwest Indiana area -- always so much fun!
I am also workin' with Jeremy the Cowboy and his Copperhead Road Band, Matthew Andersen, a country original singer/songwriter; I am also soon to be playing with Alex Hoffer "and friends" -- a Dave Matthews cover band AND originals band.
