Emcee T a.k.a.
the Chinese King of the Bay (C.K.O.T.B.), is a 20s-something, Asian-American all-around entrepreneur & hustler; and hustle T does. Not only does he run his own multimedia conglomerate known as PUSHIN' THE BAY (the TV show has garnered nearly 14,500,000+ YouTube views) partnered with Bay Area rap veteran Ray Luv, T throws his own events, hosts / produces TV programs, makes beats, gives back to the community, and even spits an occasional rap. Ask around, Emcee T is the real-deal and he believes in action over words; the proof is all documented. Born in East Oakland, raised in Santa Rosa, and educated in Hayward & San Jose, T came in the game as an emcee during the mid 90s, writing lyrics (holding it down for Asian-Americans and underserved voices) and now continues his journey pushin the Bay Area worldwide.
T's first commercial music
project available to the public (at Tower, Amoeba, and Rasputin Records) was
Hard Headed: The Mixtape CD, released in October of 2005. It had the sole purpose
of promoting not only himself, but his entourage of Bay Area talent. With no promotion
whatsoever, a single run of 2,500 units sold out (with nearly 18,000 downloads online).
T's love for the Bay Area
elevated to a new level with Emcee T's rap / hip-hop independent concert "Pushin' The Bay" - a
showcase that took place March of 2006, showcasing indie music artists funded solely by Emcee T. In fact, every move T
makes comes out his own pocket; half CEO, half renaissance man, 100%
C.K.O.T.B.
Emcee T's television show "Pushin' The Bay" appears on television
screens in the Bay Area every 1st and 3rd Friday of every month @ 12am (to 12:30am) on Channel
26 & 28 and worldwide via internet. Episode features have included rap / celebrity icons such as (A to Z) 50 Cent, Adisa Banjoko, Alison Becker (VH1 / MTV), Andrea Lowell (Playboy / Surreal Life), Ant D.O.G., AP .9, B-Legit, Balance, Black C (RBL Posse), Busta Rhymes, Chamillionaire, Chuey Gomez, Digital Underground, DJ UNK, Dru Down, Eddi Projex, Goapele, Good Charlotte, J-Diggs, Tha Jacka, Jimmie Reign, Guce, JT the Bigga Figga, Laroo, Lee Majors, Leila Steinberg, The Link Crew, Mac Dre, Mac Mall, Maino, Marcus Allen, Marshall Faulk, MC Hammer, Mistah F.A.B., Mopreme Shakur, Mugzilla, Mr. Sandman, Nutt-so, RawSun, Ray Luv, Rydah J. Klyde, San Quinn, Sick Wid It Records, Snoop Dogg, Spice 1, Spliff Star, Thizz Entertainment, Triple X, Turf Talk, Warren Sapp, Yanni (Thug Life), Young Dre, and Young Lay.
T acknowledges
that the Bay, as of recent, has been all about the 'Hyphy Movement', "The Bay is doing it way big right now
and I love that. I'll be real - hyphy and anythang else bay-originated gets
respect from me... but that's not what I grew up on. My goal is to reunite the bay and give the OG's and the Bay Area the respect WE deserve." Growing up, T took a particular
ear to Bay Area rappers during its 'Mobb Music' era; artists including Too
$hort, RBL Posse, E-40, 11/5, Spice 1, 4-Tay, and Ray Luv.
"Early
90's bay music is what fueled me to start doing what I do best, so I pay dues
where they are due - I won't change," says T.
Emcee T will however,
adapt with the new Bay while adding his own unique twist... in a way that only T
can bring it. Emcee T is currently
focused on the PUSHIN' THE BAY movement while preparing for his debut album, "UNDERESTIMATED". The
album is
self-produced and mixed at his studio, T'z Studio - with the exception of a
few exclusive tracks from up-and-coming producers.
Bay Area legends and rap pioneers, Ray Luv & multi-platinum selling
artist Rappin' 4-Tay are featured on the album along with
other Bay Area rap superstars, so keep your ears to the
street and eyes on Emcee T.
Emcee T's first
single is "Wiggle Out" featuring East Oakland's Block Promotaz - the single was released
in 2007, with the music video debute that Summer.
No release date has been set for Emcee T's highly anticipated debut album, UNDERESTIMATED
