Harmonic textures of guitar and lyrics, inspired by fifteen years journeying through India, blend with sublime Carnatic melodies played on violin and sung in Tamil. This, backed by the expressive grooves of rock, funk and ethnic rhythms and an explosive style of fretless and six-string bass is the unique fusion that is Emergence.
Emergence has featured extensively on the Indian music scene for the past couple of years, playing in Chennai, Pondicherry, Bangalore and Mumbai. The band toured the UK in summer 2008, playing venues across the country. The tour culminated in a number of inspiring performance at Glastonbury, which led to invitations to play at major European festivals in 2009, including, Sunrise, Womad, Glastonbury and Festival de Nyon.
Emergence are from Solitude Farm, a community started by Krishna McKenzie in the international township of Auroville, South India. They live a dynamic, alternative lifestyle, growing their own food, creating buildings in natural materials, and running an organic restaurant. They promote active sustainability, giving workshops and hosting like-minded volunteers.

Krishna McKenzie, lead singer and guitarist of Emergence, has been living in South India for the past fifteen years. His harmonic style is inspired by jazz, funk, classical Hindustani themes and a life close to nature.
Lowell Harrison, a funk and rock drummer from Boston has performed extensively throughout the US, from Florida to Alaska. He draws inspiration equally from funk, cuban percussion and Carnatic tallams.
Karthick Srinivasan is a reputed Carnatic violinist and vocalist from Chennai, South India. His virtuoso style on the violin, while singing in his native Tamil, infuses the band’s music with intricate melodies and a depth of expression beyond the Indian cliche.
Mishko M'Ba is among the cream of French bassists, having worked with renowned musicians such as Ray Charles, Barbara Hendrix and Didier Lockwood. He has an exciting, intensely dynamic style, contributing melodic and rythmic structures which are the very heartbeat of Emergence.

"I just wrote the lyrics and what my heart was feeling, but this is the voice of every heart who loves Bhangra music and Kaka Bhainiawala", says G-Deep. Music was produced and arranged by DJ Harry from NY. Immediately after DJ Harry heard the lyrics and the composition, he got busy in the studio to make this possible.
