Our featured artist is A Pocketful of Deng, based in Austin, TX. This
is perhaps one of the best, well-rounded progressive bands in the Austin area,
if not all of Texas. Their music has an almost self-indulgent obscurity that is
balanced with an energetic stage show. A blend of synchro-pop and eclectic
psychedelic, A Pocketful of Deng's highly intelligent yet simply graceful
sound glides over the palate and into the soul.
Their last full-length effort,
"Boxed In," was the product of time and patience, and it paid off. It's a
perfect sampling of back-in-the-day-Deng and the evolution that was the finished
