Reproductive justice and creating a justice movement for long-term social and political change.
We believe reproductive justice exists when all people have the social, political, and economic power and resources to make healthy decisions about our gender, bodies, and sexuality for ourselves, our families, and our communities

EMERJ is a national movement building initiative of Asian Communities for Reproductive Justice (ACRJ).
ACRJ is a grassroots community-based organization based in Oakland, California that works with communities and organizations to advance reproductive justice on a local, state and national level.
EMERJ's role is to build strategic alliances and increase the power, leadership and capacity of grassroots organizations and communities working for reproductive justice. We do this by bringing together reproductive justice and social justice organizations to engage in strategic thinking and to create opportunities for collective action.
We envision a strong and vibrant movement for reproductive justice that supports grassroots leadership and builds collaborative, strategic, effective, and innovative approaches to social and political change.
EMERJ is contributing to building this movement through:
Tools, Models and Resources: EMERJ is developing tools, models, and resources to support political education, leadership development, community organizing, and policy change. You can use the Reproductive Justice Lens Toolkit today to identify reproductive justice issues in your community and share your experiences with others. Download the toolkit here and see how it works!
Training: EMERJ provides trainings to a wide
range of communities in order to build a shared understanding of reproductive justice and promote reproductive justice in action. These trainings help activists and organizations make the connection between reproductive justice and other issues, build bridges between communities, and expand the Reproductive Justice Movement.
Research & Analysis: In order to better understand communities affected by reproductive justice issues and the capacity of communities to address these issues, EMERJ is doing research that lifts up the voices, experience and expertise of groups on the front lines of the work. Over 30 organizations from around the country have been involved in our research projects so far, and their stories will be featured in two reports that will be released in September!
Collective action:
EMERJ is creating opportunities for organizations to come together, learn from one another, and work collectively around a particular issue or strategy.
SexEd! will be a group of 4-6 organizations that are organizing for comprehensive sexuality education at the local or statewide level who will come together to collaborate on a project to amplify their work. Applications are now available – please email emerj[at]reproductivejustice.org.
Who I'd like to meet: Individuals and organizations working for reproductive justice in their communities who want to connect with other groups to think strategically, take collective action, and be a part of building a strong and vibrant movement for reproductive justice.
