| General | I had the opportunity to work on a film called Slipstream. it is written by Anthony Hopkins and stars Anthony Hopkins and Kevin McCarthy. McCarthy, who starred in Invasion of the Body Snatchers and dozens of other films over the years, invited me out to a location shoot in the desert.
This film is going to be amazing. The script is pure genius and when you see this film, you will not believe what a great writer Hopkins is. That man can do virtually everything!
SO, do not miss Slipstream. It's bound to be Hopkins' best work ever.
I am currently Producing the National Lampoon Radio Hour. I am working with some of the finest comic minds in the industry today. Anthony Szpak and Adam Kaplan are humbling in the writer's room. They are helping make this show better than anything on the radio!
When we went into the studio to record the pilot, I was moved by all the wonderful talent who lent their time to this project.
If you don't yet know who Rick Overton is, you need to learn. He's an improvisational genius and an amazing Voice artiste... Rick is destined to become the most recognizable voice in the cast. It will be Rick who welcomes the listener at the top of every episode and bids you farewell at the end. THANK YOU RICK! You are a gem.
For no good reason other than she is a wonderful person, Dara Kravitz took our Hindenberg sketch to Gilbert Gottfried who agreed to voice it for nothing but a car ride and dinner. If you know anything about Gilbert, you know that he deserves to be paid a billion bucks just for showing up. He's a gift to the craft and we are very fortunate to have him in our midst. Thank you Gilbert and Dara!
While we were recording Gilbert we were also given the opportunity to have two of the greatest voice artists in the world read a sketch. B.S. Zolton does an amazing Penn Jillette impression. You would swear it's Penn himself. And, Vinnie Marengo gave us a marvelous performance as the voice of Reporter, Inis Drake. Thank you B.S. & Vinnie.
I was amazed by the range of Michael Orenstein and John McDonnell. These two will be all over every episode. I could not happier!
Paul Provenza gave astonishing performances in two of our most difficult sketches. He is an amazing actor who puts us all to shame. Thank you, Provenz!
We were so happy to get, Theresa Ganzel who has a history with the original National Lampoon organization. She has the voice of an angel and we put it to perfect use. She played our kiddy porn star, Megan Kanka. Thank you, Theresa.
Carrie Snow, Ali McLean, Mike Saccone, Dean Cameron, Jess Turner, Blythe Renay, Riley Barber, Craig Anton, Tommy James, Justin Leon, John Mariano, Jeff Welch, Travis Wilson and B.S. Frase all lent their time and voice to the pilot and we are all deeply indebted to these people for being so gracious. A grand thanks to you all!
A special thank you to my daughter, Blythe Renay, who flew out here on a moments notice and has decided to take a leap and move to LA where she will be pursuing her dream. She's an amazing talent and a joy to work with. I could not be more pleased or proud of her. Thank you, Blythe!
And how could I forget the genius of KYLE PARRIS. His blog is a daily list of personal living tips that he graciously lent to the project. Voiced by KYLE himself, I hope he will be a weekly fixture on the show.
