"...a musical storm... The vocals carry like Johnny Cash had he picked up a sampler and run his voice through a beatslicer and the whole album could walk right up to the 90's Trip-Hop generation and get along like a house on fire..." --some kind of kink's review of Respite
"...Put the likes of Funckarma, NIN, Buck65, Saul Williams, Tom Waits, Aphex Twin, and the nearest back alley bum in a room together for a predertimed period of time with the goal of making an album together and that’s about as close of a description as one can make of how “Respite” actually sounds... top shelf production quality and aesthetics, and a sort of melecholic overtone and they all meld perfectly for a proper half hour, or thereabouts, listening session that’s reminiscent yet entirely unique...." --grindthieves' review of Respite
"...This album radiates tastefulness, excellence and mastery of the craft..." --Wash Cycle of Gaming World's writeup about Respite
My name on there is Clucky; it's an old name from a pet chicken I had when I was 11 and haven't really bothered to change it. But seriously, even the music you did for Eckle and Toast is really interesting and fun. It was the highlight of the game for me.
I've been wanting to create electronic music kinda like yours for a long time, but I've never really known where to start. I know bass, guitar, and drums, and I plan to learn keyboard since I figure that's pretty essential. Do you have any pointers? How did you start out?
