２００５年夏、Jazz、Funk、Rock、さらにPopの融合した
Emi Kasai Bandバンドは結成される。オリジナル曲を中心に、２００８年冬まで平均で月に５回ほどのライブを行っていた。
バンドでの経歴は、過去に大学講師の勧めで受けたOREO Cookie の
CMオーディションで最終選考まで進む。
バンド結成直後では、多くの日系クリスチャンの大規模なイベント等で演奏する。
その後は、頻繁にアメリカ人主要のクラブ、ライブハウス等でのライブ活動を開始。Wisky A Go Go, B.B King's, The Derby, Key Club, House of Bluse などでの演奏経験あり。
その他多くのコンテストに参加。
B.B King's で行われたBattle of the Bands では、約１００のアメリカ人バンドの中から、３位入賞を果たす。２００８年夏 世界中で行われている The Emergenza Music Fest のロサンゼルス大会で、決勝戦まで勝ち残り。惜しくも世界大会出場は逃すが、カリフォルニアエリアの約６００ものアメリカ人バンドを抑え、ベスと２０入りを果たす。
同じく２００８年夏、Guitar Center‘s Rock N Roll Superstars Battle of the bands presented by The LA Weekly and Revolutionary Entertainment では、トーナメント式で一位決勝戦進出を果たし、最終結果でたくさんのバンドの中で４位を勝ち取った。
ライブではパワフルなパフォーマンスで観客を引き込み、会場内を大いに湧かせている。
Emi, Yusuke, Takashi, and Sungjo met at Citrus College in 2005.
We soon started jamming and writing songs together, we then became a “band”. Yusuke and Takashi named our band “Emi Kasai Band”. Later we met a young talented pianist, Akane who plays classical music very well at our school, and she joined us in 2006. Max our crazy trumpet player joined us in 2007, and last but never the least Jonathan who plays a smooth Sax joined us in 2008.
When we all met we were learning Jazz at school. We all of love Jazzy styled music such as: Jazz, Fusion, Funk, Acid Jazz, Smooth Jazz, and Funk Rock.
When we create songs you can feel the jazz type fever we blend into them.
From 2005 to 2006, we got our bands start by playing at the 2nd St. Jazz Club, Awakenings Coffee House, Christian Music Festivals and many Japanese Festivals. We start booking more shows at a lot of Venues and showcases in all over the LA area in 2007.
We later joined the Battle of the Bands at B.B King's in summer of 2007 we came in 3rd place out of 60 bands. We were then chosen by our school to record an album and we were extremely shocked that they chose us. So in 2008 we began to record are first album, “Forever with you!” at the Sound Studios of Citrus College with the amazing help from Engineer & Producer, Tim Jaquette.
Since then we have learned and grown so much in the past years as a band and continue to play at many different venues and competitions. We all share an intense passion for music and would like to share it with the world one day on an international scale!
