Charlotte Perkins Gilman's The Yellow Wallpaper is without a doubt a worthwhile read. It was written in 1899 and is absolutely uncanny. After watching crappy movies like "One miss call" actually reading something good is quite refreshing. Of course it might drive you a little hysterical, which means that the authors intentions where completed, in you. If you like it you should also read her little comment Why I wrote The Yellow Wallpaper

Another worth read is anything and everything by Horacio Quiroga. A short story writer and a carpenter born in 1878 in Uruguay, he is the opposite of those writers who idealize nature. He was both fascinated and terrified with the true ugliness of nature and the human incapacity to overcome the eminent death. He hasn't been translated much, probably because many people consider most of his tales to be too regional, which is a misconception of the deeper meanings in his work. However I could find the English version of The Decapitated Chicken and Other Stories
Who I'd like to meet: I’ve been a little ambivalent when it comes to describing people, especially when it’s about my self. Mostly because the ones that will add me probably know me all ready, therefore they don’t need anything in the about me. But since it annoys me a bit to see this section empty I’ll attempt to say something about me. In doing so I’ve come to think that one of the ways we can define ourselves more accurately is by listing the things we like, rather than the things we think we are.
First, I like studying. I’m currently studying Comparative Literature with a second major in literature written in English so I can improve my English skills. At the moment I’m starting to study German but I have a long way to go. Literature is my one true love. I’m specializing in German folk tales, magical realism (not only in Latin-American though that’s my favorite kind), and the Latin-American journalist chronics (because I see lots of surrealist and magical realism characteristics in it). I also love theater though acting is not my specialty. I also enjoy Dadaist art.
In other words, I like fairy tales, reality when it’s magical, journalism when its seems unrealistic, the theater when its absurd and the art when it makes no sense.

Loving without fear, It's that time of year, When lovers renew a vow, And hearts express "wow"; Even as life is predominant, I see my love as prominent.
Going into that feeling, To find ourselves kneeling, At something fated, And this poem understated, Saying something profound, I see my love on holy ground.
It's with moments like this, That I fear falling into an abyss, But letting myself fall, As I surrender to it all, And find it all has been done, I see my love and I as one.
Hi Emy: Hope you are doing fine. You know, I was thinking that you should have a 5-gal container of water always filled at your apartment. That way you will have water when the public water goes out of service.
