When a friendship spawned by a mutual passion, combined with over 15 years of industry experience, develops into a music production partnership, you can guarantee that when both talents collide, the resulting productions will be devastating. This is no exception. Emilio Fernandez is a breath of fresh air in today’s stagnating and over saturated dance scene.
The joint efforts of Andy Duguid and Iwan de Kuijper, the collaboration had been on the cards for quite some time after the duo worked together on projects for Black Hole Recordings and it was inevitable that the first single “Let it Go” would be a success, the results of which were immediately evident on download stores worldwide after its release via Mr Sam’s Opus Secundo album. It was obvious from the impact of “Let it Go” that their second single “Reynosa” had been given the perfect launch pad, so instantly after release this new track followed suit and shot up the much praised Beatport top 100 to No.2, where it sat for five weeks. “Reynosa” also features in the Hollywood produced movie “Rolling”, due for release in 2009.
Drawing influences from numerous sources, both producers are no strangers to experience and fame. Andy Duguid has quickly become regarded as one of the elite and most in demand producers in today’s electronic scene following his acclaimed remixes for Tiësto, Filo & Peri, Cosmic Gate and countless others, along with his production work for Julie Thompson, his debut album on Black Hole “Believe” and his forthcoming mixes for Vandit Records and Anjuna. Iwan de Kuijper has amassed quite a repertoire of experience over the years through his enviable A&R position at Black Hole Recordings and coupled with 10 years as a DJ and as a passionate electronic music lover. Not content with purely being the listener anymore and following completion of a degree in audio engineering, Iwan has now quickly settled himself in studio surroundings and has proven that time is a great teacher, the results of which are now very apparent.
Sitting somewhere between house, progressive & trance, the Emilio Fernadez sound is distinct and unique, while remaining contemporary and effective, perfect for today’s discerning genre-less dance floors.
The third single “Saltillo” is again following the same pattern, a formula that works while remaining fresh. Again somewhere cross genre between house and trance, expect huge support the world over.
