"It's a shame the League of Nations didn't recognise Hitler's valid bagsying of Poland"
My name is Emily, though no one really calls me that. I normally go by Emmy, Em or Emz (very rarely Sarin). I am 19 years old and I was born on 7th November 1989 in Gloucester. I have 2 half-brothers, 1 brother and 2 sisters and, until September 2008, I lived in Gloucester with my parents and 2 sisters. I currently live in Birmingham where I plan to stay for a while, though I may live go to mainland Europe somewhere for a few years after my degree.
I am naturally blonde but I currently have hotpink and purple hair which is very short. I have blue eyes, stand at 5'2" tall and I am a UK size 18. My ethnicity is a bit strange so I'll just say I'm a mix of British and Eastern European blood. I'm Scottish on paper.
I'm into my piercings and I have had 14 in total, but 9 remain. Currently, I have my ears done twice (but they have been done 4 times each), my navel once (but it has been one twice), my nose, septum and snakebites. I don't have any tattoos and that's because I know that it will never be perfect, though I do have a few ideas floating around.
I have changed a lot over the past year or so and it's definitly for the better. I've suffered from depression since I was 13 and I finally beat it in 2007 when I was 17. I did everything: antidepressants, counselling, anger management and time-management but nothing worked for me. It took me 4 years, but I hope that those who are depressed who do read this realise that only they can help themselves.
I am at The University of Birmingham to study Ancient History BA. For my GCSE's, I got 2 A*, 4 A's, 4 B's and a C. At AS Level, I took Biology, Chemistry, History and Philosophy & Ethics and got and A in General Studies, B in Philosophy and Ethics, C in History, D in Chemistry and D in Biology. For A Level I got D in Chemistry, B in History, B in Philosophy & Ethics and A in General Studies.
I do like my music, but I wouldn't say it is my life as I don't devote myself to it or listen to it constantly. My music taste is weird and I like everything. Yes, I may like Aesthetic Perfection, W13, 3IOB etc, but I also like Aqua, James Blunt, Christina A etc. It doesn't make me "any less goth": that's just stupid. I listen to what I want, when I want and that is the way it will stay.
Change may be hard, but it has to be faced.
You may feel dependant on someone or something, but breaking away from them or it will only make you stronger.
Grasp every opportunity you can and have fun, because remember: you only live once.
Who I'd like to meet: Eddie Izzard, Billy Connelly, David Mitchell, Stephen Fry, Alan Davies

One of the hottest discoveries of the year is Sweden’s Vanity Blvd. Their debut album Rock’N’Roll Overdose is out now through Gain/Sony BMG. Imagine Mötley Crüe with Sandi Saraya or Karen Lawrence on vocals… and just wait until you hear their power ballad Come Dance With Me: it’s like 1994 – the band, not the year – all over again.Yes, Vanity Blvd are that damn good!
Hey! How are you? Just a quick note to say that my new song - 'Found My Way' - is now up on my page, so when you have a moment it would be great if you could have a listen and leave me your thoughts. Many thanks and I look forward to hearing from you. Gwil :-)
