Om mig: For those of you who don't know me I am 28 years old, from Salem MA. I work as a sports photographer primarily in the boxing business. I have shot almost everything and after going to art school, almost, nothing shocks me.
I love to hang out with my family and friends, covering fights and travel and enjoy life.
I have owned Emily Harney Photography for 8 years and have worked with some of the greatest fighters to ever enter the ring. With the motivation and support of my family, friends and of course the fighters, I am following my dreams to be the best boxing photographer to ever be ringside. In 2006 I was honored to accept the name "The 1ST Lady of Boxing", a nickname given by my fellow boxing friends in the business and that I hold with great pride.
People always think I got into boxing because of my husband (don't have one), my boyfriend (whoever that is) or my DAD (I brought him to his first fight). I fell in love with this sport after Bobby Tomisello RISKED and LOST his life because of what he believed in and loved. I was shocked to see that for VERY LITTLE money and a televised fight he did risk it all, with all his heart and sole, only to loose his life at the age of 25. After learning of this, I knew I had to see what this business was all about. I had to find out if there was more to it then what I was reading in the news and seeing on TV.... of course there was. It became a reality to me that these fighters were not getting the coverage, respect and understanding that they deserved. My hope....is that the people who know me will take a second look at the sport of boxing and support it, not for my sake but for the fighters sake.
The boxing business is like nothing else you will ever experience. I LOVE IT and I LOVE MY FIGHTERS!
