work here.... all incredibly good songs that push the limits of
singer-songwriter artistry." Maverick Magazine UK
EKB scribbles passionate narratives of broken lives and tales of sin and redemption all packed up in strange little country songs. Homemade and double churned for your pleasurable consumption.
Her freshman effort Paint My Heart White, released in March 2008, has gained the attention of an audience
reared on folk and alt-country influences like Neil Young, Gillian Welch, Patty Griffin, and Ryan Adams.
In Winter 2009, EKB earned an Alternative MBA under the mentorship of writer/ marketing guru Seth Godin. She'll return to the GA in MAY 2009
EKB recorded Paint My Heart White at 800 East Studios in a remarkable six days, where producer/ aritist Clay Cook engineered,
mixed, and performed on what he calls “a dark Joni Mitchell album”. Special guests who added their talented voices to the album
include: Adrianne, Nate Borofsky (of Girlyman), Vanessa Olivarez, Nicholas Niespodziani and Mark Cobb (of Y-O-U), and Shawn Mullins.
Born in a small town Ringgold, Georgia, Emily Kate Boyd got her first try at live
performance in the living rooms and cafes of neighboring Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Following her move to Atlanta, EKB recorded Wonder EP in 2006 with producer and songwriter Molly Bancroft. Bancroft and Boyd co-wrote Red Dirt Diaries that same year.

They found in his chest a lamp of roses and a moon And he thrown dead upon the stones. In his pocket they found a few piastres, A box of matches, a travel pass, And tattoo marks upon his young arm.
His mother missed him, Mourned him year after year. Boxthorn sprouted in his eyes And darkness thickened.
When his brother grew up And went looking for work in the city’s markets They put him in prison: He carried no travel pass. All he carried in the streets was a box of garbage And other boxes.
So, children of my country, Thus did the moon die.
~Mahmoud Darwish (Palestinian) (translated from Arabic by Denys Johnson-Davies)
