An alumni of Berklee College of Music, Emily Moore is a native of Southern California who has been playing violin since the age of four. A skilled teacher, performer, and composer, she can be heard on over 50 recordings and performs regularly in Boston, New York, and Los Angeles. Emily holds a performance certificate from the California Institute of Music and has studied at the Thornton School of Music and the Berklee College of Music. Emily is at the forefront of the alternative violin scene and is a co-founder of The Grand Tangent, Spiraling Refuge, and the Organic String Quartet. She currently resides in Los Angeles.
Teaching
I’m currently looking for students of all ages and abilities! I have over 8 years of teaching experience in San Diego, Los Angeles, and Boston. My goal as a teacher is to help you meet your goals as a musician. I specialize in helping students develop their own artistic voice and offer lessons in classical, folk, jazz, improv, blues, rock, and many other styles.
Payments is based on a Love Offering ($25-65/hr). I understand that everyone’s financial needs are different and fluctuate; give what you are able.

Recording
I’ve played in over 100 recording sessions in Los Angeles and Boston. I sight-read written music and chord charts very well, improvise in a variety of styles, and enjoy collaborating with other artists. I value your time and mine, and thus strive to respond to e-mail and phone calls quickly, show up on time, and work quickly in getting the best take while in the studio.
Live Performances
I am available for hire for any live performance events such as: weddings, orchestral settings, church services, corporate parties, funerals, musicals, etc. I have a large amount of experience in playing for professional events and have worked in the music industry for over 9 years. I am also available to act as contractor for your next event.
