Singer Songwriter, Emily Shea is a new comer to the Memphis music scene and until now, could be found performing solo in local coffee houses, singing melodic songs of heartache and lessons learned. Even though Shea's subject matter might be about relationships, she's definitely no bubble gum princess. Quite the opposite. Shea exudes a combination of natural beauty and simplistic class, always keeping an optimistic sparkle in her eye.
Shea, originally from Gulf Breeze, Florida came to Memphis in 1997 and began writing lyrics and playing guitar. Having grown up surrounded by music, becoming a musician was a natural progression in Sheas life - she is constantly striving to learn new and creative ways to express herself musically and lyrically.
Shea emerged on the Memphis music scene in the Fall of 2005, and has become a fast rising star. She has been compared to other prominent female singer/songwriters, like Sarah McLaughlin and Natalie Merchant, but proves time and time again she is an individual and there is no comparison. Having finished her first independent EP and toured in the UK, Shea has expanded her fan base at home and on the road.
