Born in Kyoto, Japan, Emi Meyer grew up in Seattle, Washington. Having studied jazz and classical piano since the age of six, Emi began her musical career at the keyboard. She self-produced her first album, Curious Creature, in 2007. Never afraid to experiment and take matters in her own hands, she is paving a path between Los Angeles and Tokyo and just finished a degree in Ethnomusicology. Her next English and Japanese albums are set for release in 2010.
"Emi Meyer is carving out her own uniquely soulful and melodic style of songwriting. She clearly has her own voice as a singer/songwriter. I for one impatiently anticipate what the future holds for her."
—Larry Goldings, Pianist / Composer
"Emi Meyer's debut album Curious Creature gives lovers of music something to look forward to for years to come. With a voice that belies her youth, Emi's songs are wrought with thoughtfulness. She's quickly become one of my favorite new artists."

Hi Emi. Just thought I would stop by and say how much I enjoy your voice and your music al style. As a very amateur musician, I spend too long trying to make the perfect song but not enough time listening to other people's music. Thanks for sharing your music here on MySpace.
The fire of the flame, the wicked sensation of rapture When sin and salivation rejoice, through the eyes of a lover
Their smile, ever inviting Enchanting the charm, of a beginning to embrace Because the morrow was an afterglow
The result of yesterdays tranquillity In bringing more closer, such anticipation While the flame was a candle, this moist image enveloping love
No time to decide between right and wrong, this was now, - the point to go beyond Neither in a mystery of the start to the end Many nights for just one love, one love to warm
