Emissary (aka The Freak Show) was formed in late 2003 by Mike Sanchez and Bryan Guzman, 2 talented guitar players. Waiting for the right musicians to complete the freak show, they never had luck finding the right people. By mid-2004, Mike and Bryan were still searching for the right members to complete the band. They were introduced to drummer, Marcos Garcia, who got straight to work in learning the guys’ already finished music. Also in 2004, Mike helped out his friends, Darkwater, who were in dire need of a bass-player. Mike pulled double-duty playing guitar for Emissary and bass for Darkwater, but Emissary was also in need of a bass player so they opted to recruit Adam, Darkwater’s guitar player, to play shows with the band. The band finally started playing shows at Atomix, Grahams Central Station, and many other clubs in the San Antonio area. Word was spreading about Emissary and its 2 talented guitar players. In 2005, the band was invited to play the Battle of the Bands at Grahams Central Station and subsequently won. This was only the beginning of something great or so they thought. In 2006, Emissary parted ways with their bass-player, Adam. They found a new bass-player in Danny, who also plays bass for San Antonio-based band, Plague. Emissary also parted ways with their drummer, Marcos. It was back to the drawing board for Emissary but it wasn’t before long when they added keyboardist, Alvin Melivin to the mix. To make up for their lack of a drummer, Alvin Melivin pulled double-duty in the band playing keyboards and drums. Through ups and downs, Emissary has resurfaced stronger and fuller than before. Now with new equipment and a new drummer in Steven, Emissary has come back full force. THE FREAK SHOW IS BACK!

“In live performance, Kimberly Freeman of One Eyed Doll, combines the rock-star bravado of a Jack White(or Jack Black) with the visual impact of a Japanese Anime…. A super heroine that’s alternately fierce, outrageous, vulnerable and sweet. Dressed like a punk metal baby doll, she punctuates here raging guitar work with a three foot mane of hair she whips and flails about rhythmically, mesmerizing the audience with displays of physical agility that literally burst the confines of the stage. And similar to the White Stripes or Black Keys, she is accompanied by a lone drummer… If you haven’t seen them, what are you waiting for?!” -INSITE MAGAZINE
