"'Gum' is an introspective gut buster that pounds with attitude" XFM 2006
Emits sound is buzzing with garage rock energy, held upright on a backbone of quality song writing. Thrashing staccato guitars meet infectious melodies and pounding rhythms, but dont be surprised to hear more eclectic elements like lush 4 part harmonies, beat-box and percussive breakdowns. Emit are servants to the music they make. Theres no room for ego here, the way it should be.
"Emit show that they are not just a one trick pony and can do a variety of different styles of song - and do them well." 8/10 Rock Pulse 2006
Emit has 4 members: Lee (vox/gtr/songbird), Rob (gtr/vox/geek), Dave (bass/vox/manchester) and Dan (drums/vox/insults).
"The singer has a really powerful but beautiful voice." Rock Pulse 2006
The members of Emit first met in Derby at university but the band was born in London where they now reside. Lee and Rob bumped into each-other at a Mars Volta gig in 2004 and the band started soon after.
"The lyrics are magnetic, the music ranges from the powerful indie squall of 'Gum' to the gently jangly introspection of 'Stereo Love' (complete with human beat-boxing) to the heaving punk rush of 'Argument Amnesiac' and it'll only leave fans of Bloc Party, The Dead 60's or The Rakes wanting much more. " Rock Midgets 2006
Emit are 100% DIY band, writing, playing, recording, mixing, duplication and promotion are handled by the band themselves. Rapidly becoming renowned for their energetic live shows they have ensured an increasingly healthy fan base in and out of London.
"This well-rounded quartet oozes integrity and their hardworking DIY ethic will surely endear them to a forward thinking label, very soon." AngryApe 2006
Medes is the solo project of producer AJ Cookson. Known for his remix work under alter-ego Forma (tKatKa, Death From Above 1979, The Knife, Matthew Rozeik, Score One For Safety), and formerly as the frontman for the explosive band The Montauk Projekt (“…some kind of locked on noise-bastard two-piece” – Organ Magazine), AJ has been a regular contributor to 100m collective projects since the label’s inception and has collaborated with many of the collective’s acts. He now delivers this outstanding and long awaited debut solo collection.

THIS THURSDAY!!!THIS THURSDAY!!! THIS THURSDAY!!! THIS THURSDAY!!!
..
Join us for another Big City Redneck Presents! Another wonderful eruption, nay, ejaculation of good music at the Buffalo Bar this month!
What can I say? We won’t disappoint.
Buffalo Bar June 19th £6 on the door… 8.30pm till they kick us out…
Mama Shamone – THESE GUYS AREN’T PLAYING LIVE (except one acoustic) EXCEPT AT GLASTO FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR! http://www. myspace. com/mamashamone “Put Mama Shamone on at any venue and they are likely to take the roof off, this was one of the best live shows I’ve seen in years - certainly one of the best in London. In my opinion these guys are destined for greatness, it felt like I was witnessing history being shaped-something was just so right about what they were doing up there.” Vibe Bar
We Yes You No www. myspace. com/weyesyouno “We Yes You No sing about the end of the world, the end of everything. But in an apocalypse that would sound like this I would buy god’s last EP” – Big City Redneck
Language http://www. myspace. com/languageuk “"The verbosity of funk, the poetic twang of intelligent pop. The bridge between Franz Ferdinand and Smashing Pumpkins perhaps" – Bugbear
The first of a monthly gig night at the Buffalo Bar hosted by Big City Redneck... You coming? Should be rather swellegant!
Buffalo Bar 259 Upper Street Nr. tube: Highbury and Islington 21st February £6/£5 concessions Doors: 8.30pm – 1am
The Chap http://www.myspace.com/thechap “Like Underworld if they’d decided to be a lo-fi rock and roll combo instead of a stadium-selling dance act. Stunning, it’s ridiculous, but in a great way.” Vice Mag
The Guillotines http://www.myspace.com/headswillrockandroll “Snarling spunk-punkers The Guillotines come across like Gallows meeting the Rat Pack, with a flame-haired Lauren Bacall wielding a bass, outside a Brighton S&M shop psyching themselves up to buy leather gimp masks. Wanton sax appeal, voodoo rock'n'roll magnetism and growling dirty lounge” NME
Creepy Morons http://www.myspace.com/thecreepymorons “The thunderous blues crunch of The Creepy Morons first materialised in 2005 having risen from the ashes of Hot Tradition and The Beatings. I know its rubbish when I merely regurgitate information from a myspace, but when a band describes its influences as ‘Women, Drinking and Death’, and their sound as ‘Drunken monkeys assembling an Ikea butchers block’, I’d be daft not to.” Jon Hillcock, XFM
...sombody on my friends list wrote a real nasty thing about you in a blog they just wrote you need to see this, i dont know why either, sorry, but here is the link to it...
