GLOBAL RADIO SIGNS EMMA BUNTON AND ADDS A TOUCH OF SPICE TO HEART

Emma to present Saturday afternoons from 4pm on the Heart network and Friday drivetime on London’s Heart 106.2

Emma Bunton to present her own Saturday afternoon show from 4pm across all 24 stations on the Heart network, starting on Saturday 13th June.

In addition, Emma will host Friday drivetime from 4pm on London’s Heart 106.2, starting on Friday 12th June. Emma has already proved a massive hit on Heart 106.2. She is currently co-hosting Heart Breakfast with Harriet Scott while regular co-presenter Jamie Theakston is on holiday and last February she teamed up with Jamie to co-host Heart Breakfast while Harriet was on her honeymoon.

In the latest radio industry figures released by RAJAR (Q1 2009), the Heart network is celebrating its highest ever reach with 7.26 million listeners tuning in for an average of 7.9 hours every week. In London, Heart 106.2 has stormed to the number one commercial position in terms of both share and hours. Heart 106.2 listeners are now tuning in for a total of 12.46 million hours each week, representing an increase of 26% quarter-on-quarter. In addition, more people are tuning in to Heart 106.2 than ever before as the station enjoys the highest reach in its 14-year history with 1.97 million people listening each week and an increased market share of 5.9%, up from 5% last quarter.

Emma Bunton said: “I love doing the Breakfast show so much that when I was asked to present my own shows, it was so exciting and felt completely natural. I’ll be kick-starting the weekend with Feel Good Friday and then back on Saturday – I can’t wait to be part of the Heart team!”
