Exceptionally gifted Australian singer/songwriter Emma Joleen, has recently been awarded Runner Up in the International Song of the Year Songwriting Contest, Judges' merit for the International Clonmel Songwriting Contest Ireland, and 12 of her original songs were semi finalists in the International UK Songwriting Contest 2008.
Emma Joleen discovered her passion for writing when she lost her voice. After a year of being a mute, that is, when no words could be spoken or sung, the music continued to sing on the piano where, Emma Joleen wrote a number of songs which have won several national and international accolades. Thankfully Emma Joleen's voice has returned and she continues to sing with more heart than ever.
Vocally, Emma Joleen is a bit of Tori Amos, a touch of Dido and a hint of Kate Bush, where musically she transitions between Regina Spektor, Evanescence and Sara Bareilles. Visually, Emma Joleen is compared to Delta Goodrem and Reese Witherspoon, while her stage presence resembles the energy of Madonna, Amanda Palmer, Gwen Stefani and Liberace.
Emma Joleen says, "I want to reach out to people through song. Music has been a huge contribution to my good health and I love sharing my passion with others."
