"Overall this entire program was one of the most uplifting musical experiences these reviewers have had recently."-Ayana Lowe and George Chieffet
Ms. Kemp is also a hidden treasure. Two of her compositions, "Swinger" and "First Awakening" arranged by Chris Rinaman, were showcased. Ms. Kemp is able to write music that swings while also revealing the highest levels of composition. Her Jazz compositions are rigorous, yet there is a soul and blues feeling flowing through each measure.-Ayana Lowe and George Chieffet
Chicago born Emme Kemp, a three-year-old piano prodigy, studied at Northwestern University and the Berklee School of Music. Before coming to New York, Emme spent time in Northern California where she coached with the eminent pianist Egon Petri. Moving eastward she played Las Vegas and New York Waldorf Astoria’s - Peacock Alley, for two years. Other New York locals included the St. Regis Hotel, Rainbow Room, and numerous college campuses. Kemp’s repertoire covers a wide range of musical styles, and she is multi-talented. As a Bandleader, Broadway Composer, Pianist and Vocalist, Emme, independently produced her own original songs and music, which are featured on her latest CD “Try A Little Tenderness.
Nov. 2005 - The Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning, presented works of Queens & Women Composers / performers from Billie Holiday to Julie Mandel. Kemp participated as pianist and vocalist in the debut performance of her lush and outstanding “First Awakenings Jazz Ballet, and a performance with the Carol Sudhalter Astoria Jazz Band.
Along with performing and composing, Kemp has been an active member of the David I. Martin Music Guild of the N A. N. M., Inc. She has received awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, ASCAP, NANBP and IWJ. The New York Times has commended her for having "an unusually sensitive understanding" of her art!
Kemp's extensive resume is a testament to her illustrious career, admired and respected by her peers, see photos of Emme with Lena Horne, BB King, Dave Brubeck, Liberace, and others.

Hi Emme, Love and greetings from your friend for many years! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your world. You are a great lady to know! Truly an entertainer!! Wishing you PEACE AND LOVE!! :)
Dear Emme, what a wonderful surprise to hear from you. Thank you for the add. I look forward to performing with you, again, soon. Didn't we have a ball at Chuckles :-)
There is within each of us a spirit that reaches out to all others. That part of us is not controlled by our egos, it knows no time, it knows no boundaries, it has no concept of death...it is undefeatable. It is the friend that we wish, we seek, we know and yet cannot fathom. Welcome to my circle of friends.
"...It is hard to sometimes walk away from a problem in order to solve it. Sometimes our burdens seem so great that they are irresolvable. I have learned this from the study of Logic: To actually know that a problem exists there needs to be some form of a solution to base it on that it exists. As in Physics we cannot measure darkness, so we used Mythos to describe the darkness, even the darkness of our minds. Mythos predates and is the ancestor of our modern Psychologies. The problems we find hardest to walk away from are those that cause us to feel dread. What is easiest to change is the feeling of dread..." From the book: The Lyth of Lemmings by Frank Mueller
It's great to see you on Myspace. I just started getting active with about a month ago. It's been a great experience. I have been finding all kinds of great musicians - including yourself, from all over the world!
I hope that you're having a wonderful Spring season. Thank you for adding me to your site!
